I tried /dg/, but all the whining from shitters thinking they are above average, and just general toxicity from the handful I've played with is enough to keep me away. I mean I don't even have to name drop these people, that's how annoying it is to play Crucible with them. I can't speak for the whole of /dg/, but that's my experience and it was enough. Don't worry about grinding for IB gear just now while you're underleveled. There's an automatic buff working away in the background that will increase the amount of IB Rep you get from winning/bounties and the buff gets bigger with each passing day. By Sunday and Monday it reaches silly amounts and you can hit Rank 5 pretty quick from Rank 0.

Grind out a few level 36 strikes wearing your highest level gear and upgrade each slot as you go as gear rolls with stats comparable to your current Light Level (i.e. 238 could get you stuff around 200-250 stats) and Strike bosses always drop some blues now.

Ishtar Commons on Venus Patrol.
That's the place at the start of the Nexus strike you can go back and forth and kill fallen and vex, stay to one side to get the other to spawn. It's a good spot to kill enemies people seem to overlook Patrol to go straight to Waking the hive but you could just run strikes too. Its going to take a little bit no matter how you do it so whatever way you chose dont make it hard on yourself just do something else in pve if you get bored of one way.

The specifics aren't there yet, but Bungie says they're doing a refer a friend system, and that Sparrow's description states that you have to initiate guardians.

So, I'm guessing that means you have to convince people IRL to buy the game and then do a mission with them in co-op or something.

Because the sparrow looks cool, I'm willing to bet that you have to "initiate" at least ten people.

I'm not gud by any means. I'm just sitting on the verge of 1.2 k/d now, which is far better than my ~1.0 that I had starting out. Got a nicely rolled pulse, a cancer 1kys, and fuck heavies but they're not a huge part of the game, and started thinking a bit more about what I could've done better on each death. Naturally you'll just start getting better. I can hold my own in trials and regularly go positive in IB now.

also if you can learn striker its all-around so much more useful than skillbreaker
