At the very least, I don't think any of the fractals require coordination out of the entire group at once, so you shouldn't have to worry about being put into a role you have no idea how to do.

Almost killed Vale Guardian as one. We actually had two druids, one cleric's, one zerker. I was the cleric druid, and I mainly focused on healing instead of damage - there are lots of moments of high pressure when you know you'll have to heal. The DPS wasn't really an issue despite having two non-DPS players(the other being the warrior tank) - we had lots of time left on the timer and the only reason we failed today was because we kept fucking up and wiping at the last burn phase, either to teleports or to seeker orbs.

In the raid me and my pet constantly had a shitton of boons(possibly thanks to heralds) - even without my intervention pets do alright damage(my smokescale did 11,5k on his teleport move at one point), and even I had a decent output when I could take breaks between babysitting. Other than staff, I ran sword/WH, and once I gathered enough astral force, I switched to them, used Call of the Wild and tried to DPS as much as I could until I had to press F5 and heal - and when the form runs out you can immediately switch back to staff.

So to sum it up, at least on the first boss, winning the DPS race isn't much of a problem even with only 8 dedicated DPS. I can't vouch for the other two.

Healing glyph, damage glyph, elite glyph, pushback glyph, spirit of frost.

Pushback isn't always necessary, just on the first fight.

Glyphs are useful, they trigger seeds and those seeds in turn give Ancestral Grace. The damage one is obvious, and the healing one is pretty great for healing up raids. The elite helps with that as well, I guess, but there aren't really that many amazing choices in that slot.
