5 Reasons not to play on Lordaeron
-- a list by Pezado --

1) Molten has a long history of scamming and shady business practices. In the past they would do things like randomly suspend people's accounts and offer for them to be restored for a cash donation. When they weren't making enough money from their cash shop they decided to intentionally break the Shadowmourne quest line so the only way to obtain the weapon would be to pay €70.

2) After five years their other WotLK servers are still horribly broken. The idea that Lordaeron will be any different is a joke. Molten is all about making money and they will only put in just enough effort to achieve that goal and not a bit more.

3) Gross mismanagement. They've had their databases wiped twice due to the owners jewing eachother. It is not advisable to invest time into Lordaeron because its very possible your character will be destroyed some time in the future. You can read all about this here: http://pastebin.com/tktcCEFC

5) Pay to win. They claim you only will be able to donate for gear 1 tier below the current raid, but everyone knows that's a lie. Lordaeron will go full pay2win before the end of T8 raid content.

The point is that Warmane's WotLK realms have been up for 5 years and this is still the state of their Ulduar in 2015. Completely fucked with several bosses entirely unscripted.

No matter what core they're running, that says a lot about the ownership and people developing it.

Stock Naxx is "raidable", but comes with a lot of issues that I'm pretty sure will be present and untouched on Lordaeron. On GD Naxx has received A LOT of fixes.

Ulduar you have to do basically from scratch yourself. Raids on GD are completely unique, you won't find this good scripting on any other wotlk private server except for ToD.

For instance, you can check Ulduar forum threads on GD. It's really impressive, every trash mob, every little nuance, boss mechanic and spell was in some way tuned over the last year. Even small details like whether Mimiron should agrro by proximity were looked into and corrected.

GD actually cares about quality and blizzlikeness of PVE. Warmane cares only about the population. As a result, you get 7k people doing unscripted raids with 500ms latency on Lordaeron. I guess it appeals to x1 casuals that won't ever be able to to try and test any of the heroic modes.

I didn't choose to. The torrent in OP is dead so I downloaded wotlk from mol10's site. It came with WoD models. I already deleted the mpq files, like I said in my post, and it removed the models but also removed armour for every player character in the game.

If GD released a fresh, x1, progressive server I'd play there in heartbeat. But instead they pander to funserver casuals with high rates. The fun part about WoW is competing in the race to end-game and beating bosses before other guilds. Anything other than that is boring as fuck.

Plenty of english speakers last time I was there. It's relatively high pop so you should find an english guild pretty easily.

There's also Dalaran as an option too, but I don't know much of anything about that server.

Those are pretty much your only options for wotlk servers though.

It's incredibly high pop. No one has any clue if the raids will be scripted well since none of them are out yet. They will likely be playable but not particularly good, or they could be good. Depends on if mol10 actually put some effort into them.

Lord might be slightly buggy. It's a reskin of Molten though, and that is scary because they have awful GMs and Admins are extremely greedy. Also they haddn't fixed ulduar after 5 years and broke the Shadowmourne quest chain just so people would have to buy the item from the store.

The sad part is, latias realizes he has problems but he doesn't realize the right problems about himself so he doesn't actually get to improve on whats wrong.

He talked about how he was oh so terrible at doing dps on his mage without power torrent or the arch staff and no volcano card he farmed up 2 volcano cards and sold both to put money towards the rogue which is also gone now because he thought it'd be a better investment, I shit you notand he actually did pretty decently for not having that. He held his own just fine with dps which he seemed extremely focused on suspiscious similarity with greg but didn't seem to always be able to get certain mechanics down or heavily over thought them to the point of not wanting to be subject to doing them at all(hc valiona, which may tie into one of the real reasons why his rogue is gone). I remember how happy he was when he got an 18k combustion before during a vortex pinnacle run. Seemed to have given the poor thing a momentary confidence boost and a pat on the back but it wasn't enough for him to keep with it for long.

What an enigma. At least he usually pugs, claiming he's 'testing' things before doing whatever raids he finally manages to go into with <aa>, so whatever gear he wins from there isn't gear that the guild loses when things like this happen. It's not that bad, the dude just has some actual crippling issues and can't seem to realize what they actually are.
