Well, by "remake the older games" I assumed they were referring to Gaiden and the Jugdral games. They already remade FE1 and FE3 and the GBA games haven't aged as badly as the NES and SNES games.

If Fire Emblem becomes more popular after the western release of Fates, and considering that Awakening did better than expected, Nintendo might decide to remake the older games.
