I created my own system where if I win 10 easy bot games in a row, I would move onto medium, if I won 10 mediums, I'd move onto hard, and if I won 10 unfair games in a row, I'd queue up for a real match thinking I'd be ready for it. If at any time I lost a match, I'd be knocked back a difficulty until I completed 10 more games of that difficulty. So far I've only beaten unfair bots 10 times in a row twice. This is the only way I'm able to psyche myself up to play with actual players in a real game.

Even though I have anxiety I still want to get better at this game. Is there another way for me to improve?

You must consider that Valve are total bros when it comes to developing, I mean see HL3. They let the devs think their ideas through and have fun with it.
They have soo much money they are not pressured. I checked the steam database for updates regarding the next Major update and it seems like Icefrog is working on the next patch day and night 24/7 like an autist, constantly updating the server with new updates and changes.

I think they gave him more time this time so he can work on his ideas, also they are preparing an arcana, comic and desert terrain so they are making it big atleast.

So if it's anyones fault, it's people giving hat money to valve.

Item progression was: Poor man's > quelling > phase boots > radiance > heart > bfly > skadi

Is poison orb helpful early game?

Didn't used to be like this though. The downfall really started with TI3, the Swedes won and ended up bringing all the Swede shitposters to the general which in turn attracted all the other shitposters and the general ended up like this. All the people who used to come here to discuss the game left to places that actually get moderation to help control the shitposts(reddit, playdota, etc.)

I have a custom game concept that I'm working on to teach people languages (Japanese to start). It involves using the hero skills for selecting multiple-choice answers to questions and the leveling system to represent minor milestones when you reach a certain level of understanding. I found a really easy way to port over questions and answers into the script from opensource texts and can be easily replaced with other languages as well. In the end though shit like this makes me afraid that Valve will somehow C&D me for this and all my time these past few months will have been wasted.
