You don't need the gun nuts to get a mod on your gun.

Find another gun with the mods you want then put the base version mods on it and the mods will go in your inventory.

Then you can put that mod on the gun you want without the rank or materials needed to create it.

You should pick one of the base increase weapon damages and invest five into that. Also armorer for power armor upgrades, but mods are kinda a waste. Lock picking and science are useful too

I like how combat has been brought up to modern standards.

There's even a cover 'peek' mechanic when ADS behind cover though it can be a bit buggy.

you need the perks to do 1 and 2
1 you assign a settler to it, you can't assign followers
2 when you are in build mode you mouse over a settler and press q then a drop down will appear to get the route going and the settler becomes something else and your settler count go down by 1

You can turn off the UI by making the HUD completely transparent in the menus, or by using

I prefer tm, because it toggles all menus off completely, pauses the game, and is generally a lot faster. Downside, is that it can be hard to turn it back on if you're not competent.

It doesn't matter. The difference between lowest/highest on lighting/texture quality is a matter of 2 frames per second at most.

The only real performance impacting option is god rays, which are best left at low since, again, there is no visible difference between the lowest and highest option. However god rays at highest actually has a massive performance cost, while lowest costs almost nothing but looks just as good.

I don't know what the Fallout canon has to say about it, but it would be seriously stupid and illogical if a nuclear war happened and any nuclear power just sat back and didn't get involved.

The moment one nuclear weapon is used in war, that'll be it, nuclear powers will have far more reason to use theirs than to avoid it, whether or not they were involved.

Any nuclear power would see a nuclear war and immediately strategise the best way to ensure their survival - and almost all of the time it would be using their arsenal to destroy as much of the remaining power as possible.

A post-nuclear war world would be horrible, and no area would be allowed to be unscatched purely because they would then become the main power and have huge advantage locally and globally over the remains.

Basically, there's no way that Russia didn't get involved in Fallout, and if we're to expect they didn't and that the only nuclear attacks were on China and the US then that's just plain silly.
