New thread. Anyone gonna be playing amiibo festival tomorrow? The island minigame looks fun, using all your favorites to try and escape within a time limit.

I want it to be a good game, but when it comes to the board game it looks like you don't anything except roll the die and choose which direction you go in. No minigames and no other options that affect the game. It's almost like you don't do anything except look at how pretty it is.

I used my Mable amiibo and when I went to visit the house all three sisters where in it, and I could interact with them unlike when you make characters show up via card. Does the Sable card do the same thing?

After playing the board game a couple of times you start getting "festival tickets" which you use to unlock the other modes. Once you unlock any mode you can just play that one to grind for tickets instead of the actual board game.

I got all of them except Robin and Bill. I have the Bulletin Board theme as my 3DS main theme, with several of the characters chilling around the flowers on the bottom screen.

I had no idea wtf I was doing when I started a couple days ago, so I spent all my plays on that 8-bit Mario machine not knowing it wasn't just a trial thing. I fucking hate Mario. So I have all these badges for a game I hate, and I will NEVER use them!

Like if there was a Peach badge, and I had gotten her, I wouldn't have complained. But yeah, the rest of Mario shit doesn't interest me at all.

Super Princess Peach is literally the only Mario game I love / have played by my own will, too many times to count. Peach is flawless, and should have more games centered on her.

Amiibo collectors are no different than the former, to be honest. And when it comes to AC cards they're no different than the latter.

While I am glad Nintendo has incorporated a lot of AC characters into amiibo - I am not thrilled at all that the amiibo hoarders are like sharks to these as well.

It makes me a little wet that Nintendo packaged the amiibo with the game the way they did. Either they have no choice but to never open the game, or they need to settle with the label-less plastic packaging. Poor amiibo hoarders.

What I hated most was finding out who Santa Claus really was...

I was 7 yrs old... It was after 3am and I had to piss so bad. My dad was using the upstairs bathroom to shower & shave because he had to work Christmas morning. I sneaked down the stairs, staring at wrapped presents thrown/stacked from the stairway in the living room all the way to the television. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I saw my mom, sitting criss-cross style on the floor, as she stuffed stockings, with dozens of bags of candy and tiny wrapped gifts surrounding her. She was watching a vhs of Con Air that our dad had gotten her for Christmas. It was the first time I heard an f-word come from our tv. So it kinda added to the awkward atmosphere. (We knew our parents watched "adult (anything over a PG-rating) movies" at night when we were 'sleeping'.) Our basset hound was underneath the tree eating carrots we left out for the reindeer. My mom looked at me with the deadliest stare she would give me until 7 yrs later when I had to tell her I had gotten suspended from school for the day (a whole different story). It was probably the second most awkward and "ohhh shit" moment of my life. Rather than continuing to the bathroom to piss, I ran back upstairs and pounded on the bathroom door and told my dad I was coming in. I slid a hardcover book between the door lock, and just took a piss while my dad was still in the shower. I went back to bed, woke up that morning a little after 5, and never told my sisters what happened...

Your town is really well done though. Especially around the plaza and your house - it seemed as though the flowers were organized by type and color, which was really cool. I got to see that spot you wanted the bushes for - hope they grow up fine without giving you any trouble. I like the flower clock being off the path surrounded by flowers too.

You don't need them at all.
The only benefit they bring to the game is being able to decorate NPC houses, like Isabelle and such. You can use a regular villager's card to call them in before you've seen them on your main street, and you can invite villagers over to other houses to make things seem more lively.
