Nah, it's just the situation. Even though everytime I flew Makoto did not score well (both times the rivals had skilled attackers that took turns getting behind me, that teamwork was impressive, or got harassed by the multirole doing support defense).

Just got a game where I was the lowest cst attacker in my team with LASM Ami and at some point I had two fighters tailing me and it looked like pic related. Mostly because I was going really fast and dodging the shit of everything more than attacking kept the defense busy for the Craptoritos to do their thing. Scored shit but team won and it was fun.

I propose adding the Mach 3.2 F-4X (pic related) as a high speed interceptor similiar to the Mig-31.

The F-4 Terminator 2020 as a 725 cost end of tree metaphantom.

The F-4EJ Kai as a phantom equivalent to the F-15J.

EF-4D Wild Weasel IV which would function as an ECM SEAD aircraft.

The F-4 (FV) S because everyone loves variable geometry wings.

And finally the YF-4E high maneuverability Phantom with Fly By Wire, leading edge strats, and canards to improve battlefield agility.

Are you retarded? That was only ever the Vent, and even it's LASMs are now only barely stronger than the vanilla Harrier's thanks to the balancing. Every single other attacker does more damage. Only the Vent was problematic in the past, although the Cocoon will undoubtedly dethrone the Vent.

I started dumping all my credits into the F-20, F-14A, and Harrier because I'm obsessed with U.N. Squadron and I didn't really understand how the game worked at first. I also have a few randomly leveled up aircraft and I bought all upgrades as they became available at first.

Now I realized my mistakes and I'm trying to focus on leveling up the F-14D. Is the F-20 still viable when leveled up? Mine is level 6 right now and it flies amazingly well despite having shit special weapons. The F-14D is level 5 and still handles like shit.

Also is there any way to respec? I'm still obsessed with sticking to Area 88 planes but I wish I could get back the credits that I spent in other planes/branches. I'm bummed that I missed the Area 88 event by a long shot - I want those unique planes and the Area 88 emblems so badly.

Stumbling on this series was weird. It's like the game I always wanted but I never even knew about it. I've been playing U.N. Squadron all these years wishing for a 3D game and somehow this series slipped by me until a few weeks ago.

I ditched the F-14A and I've committed to the F-14D now. I was kind of hung up on staying true to the Area 88 aircraft but the F-14D is still close enough that I don't mind. Plus the 6AAM are amazing.

It's just such a huge change going from the F-20 to the F-14. The former is smooth like butter but it looks like the F-14 doesn't start handling well until near level 10. I also wasted a ton of credits on leveling up the Harrier but I trashed that shit for the A-10, which I'm much happier with.

I was pretty confused when I saw that there were only 8 missions. I don't think $20 for the unlock is too bad though especially considering that you get 20 stocked fuel as well, but I have to agree that the overall model is so unbelievably shit. I'm just really excited about the game since I'm still relatively new so I haven't become too jaded yet.

I have never put money into any F2P game and I don't even play games that much anymore since I'm too old, but I would've gladly paid $60 for a complete and fully unlocked game. I mean it still would've been cool to level up and unlock in-game shit like special planes and skins, but being limited to 3-4 sorties per day is such a load of shit.

I was actually planning on making my own game before I found out that Ace Combat exists. I bought a bunch of model kits so that I could start creating the 3D CG. I really hope that they release a sequel and that it's not F2P garbage though - it would take me years and years of work to catch up if I created my own game from scratch.

I stopped playing just after the official launch. I couldn't connect to any game thanks to my shitty dorm internet and CRT tv made all text readable for ants. Then I came back somewhere around May of this year. I got that huge comeback bonus, which helped me a lot. It took me a while to realize realize that the number to the right of nicknames is the matching rate and that there is a massive difference between 2000 and 1500, but now I see all these ~2000 players creating games with the "beginners welcome" message or joining lobbies where the average is <1500, and they clean up every single target before most people have a chance to get even a single kill.

I'm still confused as to how anyone can rank that highly. I know I'm awful at the game but I've gotten a lot better since I've started and I still can't breach 1500.

It especially sucks when I unlock a new plane and have to work on leveling it up. That's when I start drastically losing points and averaging only ~20k at best per sortie. Getting a new plane that I've had my eye on is exciting but playing catch up is always a bummer.

I just can't wait til I have at least one plane that maneuvers half as well as the shit I've seen on Duck's channel. Sometimes watching him play is so stupid - he just instalocks on a target 20 miles away, spams missiles, does an extremely sharp turn, reloads immediately, and continues firing away. It's like he doesn't even have to think about anything or put forth any effort, meanwhile I'm still making very fine movements and attacking with the vulcan cannon on top of missiles just to secure one target.

That said, the game is tailored to reward speed, so missile spamming and going fast will give you good results regardless of the skill involved. This is the reason I loved piston TDM and PAT so much, because you have to actually be good at flying in them.

Any tips for getting S rank in campaign? I got S in the first two missions I think, but after that, I can only get A. I usually get to targets before Ridgebacks so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Is there a bonus for clearing within a certain time limit?

Also are there any secrets for Butterfly Master? The UAVs shoot down all of my missiles for like the first 2 minutes and it's already incredibly hard to hit them given how jerky they move.

Anybody else find the respawn annoying? I shoot down an attacker after 180 from the initial joust then go to the enemy fleet to catch him respawning.

Is it better to forgo one slot in favor of high rank parts?
For example, on my F-14D, I have the choice between Pitch M or Pitch + Yaw S. Using Pitch M means that I have one less slot.

Also is acceleration worth it? My priority level is pitch > speed > brake > yaw > acceleration > roll but I'm not sure if that's a good approach. I'm still learning how things work.

Pitch does far more for quicker turning, and if you're smart and equipping speed/acceleration you won't have enough slots for brakes anyway

You're right to prioritize reload speed though, but until you hit level 7 or 8 you actually should use missile speed parts, they go a long way to helping you hit those more evasive planes when you're low level

I think prioritizing reload speed helped me go from a 15-20k player at 1450 to ~35k at 1500. The 6AAM is kind of cheap though and I think that's helping me a lot too.

I'll try missile speed in favor of SPW reload speed though and see if that works even better.

The problem is that my F-14D is only level 3 or 4 even after like a week of grinding every single day, so I have extremely limited slots. I think I'm only sitting at 17 slots for the body right now.

Another issue is needing to use other planes for challenges. I'm trying to do special challenges for 30k credits. I'm a massive fan since like 20+ years ago. I'd trade all my current planes, upgrades, and credits just for the Area 88 planes and emblems. At the very least, I wish the game had a trade system for skins, special planes, and emblems.

Looking great. I was thinking about something more in the line of classic Sampdoria kits, with the colors concentrated in the upper section and the socks/shorts black (avoiding too much lighter colors). I'll leave to you to decide which is better.

As for the socks, the idea is neat but I don't think there'll be much chances to look at it and from distance will look like thin stripes. I'd suggest a more subtle approach, with several markings around the kit, like sponsons and stuff, but that in reality are Belkan nationalist words. What does /aceg/ think?
