--- News ---
Anno 2205 is out. General consensus is that it's a departure from 2070 and 1404 and should be judged on its own merits, not necessarily as a continuation of that formula, but that even judged on its own merits it can be argued that it's lacking content and coherence. It's not irredeemable shit.

Started a new city, this time on more level ground to get a really huge city going. Anyone know how to get both the default vanilla style and the European style in the same city? I'd like to have the default skyscrapers for downtown, but European style for outskirts.

>Anyone know how to get both the default vanilla style and the European style in the same city?
district style perhaps? never used it though
>>121924659
On European maps, you can't change back to the default style, because it's replaced by the European style. On default styled maps, you can change to European, but not the other way round. Pretty retarded.
>>121925115
Fake it till you make it.
Look, mom, I got rid of almost all roundabouts! Are you proud, mom?
In Anno 2205's combat mission, does the number of enemies scale depending on the size of your fleet or the difficulty only?

How do you build a nice airport or shipping terminal?
After 18h im kinda done with 2205 with only 1 sector per zone. Unlocked all buildings, mqxed out my bank account, +110k revenue that I could streamline a bit
I wish there were more production chain, I remembered getting absolutely buttfucked the first time I launched 2070
Now it's only a matter of scaling up production, which is easy with a margin as wide
Tbh I'm just testing the word filter senpai

Is there a lot of modding in these games? This would be awesome
Need the terrain brush mod
>missions in 2205 mostly just give resources used for adding modules
>combat missions give you way too many modules
>constantly bugged to do missions, but there's no fucking point because the orbital watch has a limitless bank account, limitless number of supporters on Earth for no fucking reason, and shipyards that they are just allowed to build and maintain without any other megacorp or mercenary group stepping in and preventing them from setting up shop
>currently sitting at 999 everything
It's really hard to like this game. There's a lot of cool concepts, but it's just bogged down by being really overly generous on the resource side of things. There's zero scarcity and no penalties for too much growth. That's something I like about 2070, how mines ran out and pollution would fuck up farming.

Well, you, /cbg/, are one of the lucky few!
>To ban evade, simply use your phone’s internet or tether your phone and once banned, activate “airplane mode” — additionally, you may need to reset your cookies depending on the type of ban you receive.
Changing your IP address and clearing any cookies will give you the power to say anything you want, i.e. free speech, even when a janitor is trying to silence you with force. Use this power for good.

Hey fuckers, I need a new city builder/factory construction game, I'm feeling the itch and nothing is scratching it. Doesn't have to be new, and I'm not particularly attached to any setting/style, as long as it's good. I've already played Skylines, I tried the new Anno and I do not care for it ( the last one was alright ), ditto Sim City 4, and I've had my time with basically all the games and series named in the OP ( except for some of the older Anno games ).
is it just me or are the walkways hard to connect?
like i would hover over already placed walkway because i want to extend a part of it and it bloody replaces it wtf
>>121989319
Here's some ideas friend:
Pharaoh Series
Caesar Series
Early Anno Games
Cities Skylines
The Guild 2 Renaissance
Tropico Series
Banished
Settlers Series
Stronghold Series
CivCity: Rome
Cities in Motion
Cities XL
OpenTTD
Knights and Merchants
>>121989987
The only ones of those that I've not played is the early anno games ( which I indeed said in the post ), and the main reason I'm sorta keeping away from those is because they're basically impossible to findoutside of teh piracy, and from what I understand they've sorta been left behind by modders in terms of stuff like high resolution mods and modernization fixes. I love old games but the tiny resolutions on games that aren't sidescrollers or screen-to-screen in terms of perspective just throw me off completely.
Is Space Colony any good?
>>121990248
The early anno games are on gog, but you should try to play 1602. It's the forgotten classic of the Anno series.
>>121990272
It's a little dated in some regards, but still holds up fairly well, specially if you get that new enchanced edition that's floating around. It's more of a people management game than a building game. mind you.
>>121990313
Could you sell me on it, Anon? Why should I go for that one over 1503 or 1701?
>>121990483
Actually I'm leaving in two minutes, but in short 1503 has very different mechanics in terms of Anno. They changed the formula and it didn't work well at all. It's probably the worst game in the series. Not liking 1701 is personal taste. They more or less improved the graphics while simultaneously bloating the interface. It felt like playing a children's game. I'm not saying 1701 is bad, but it's probably the easiest and least fulfilling game in the series. As for 1602, it's a sort of bread and butter city builder. Originally released in 2000 (NA). It's not 'dated' rather than 'simple' as there aren't any mechanics that are old. The military aspect is barely present, which I like, but some people prefer the newer games with increased military focus. I hate to use the word, but it's 'comfy' and I love making custom scenarios and trying to max out population on them. Also, 1602 still has multiplayer over hamachi if you want to play with others.
>>121990743
Fair enough, I will definitely consider it. Thanks.
