Well, there's literally no hacking or anything involved. None of the files are encrypted. You could open an event file in notepad and change the dialogue yourself or even change the game graphics by opening up the image files in photoshop and editing it.

Koreans patched it on release because of that.

Hover over the left when you run a game. Then click Menu > Text Settings and in ITH you can copy and paste what ever line you want re-translated. If you also have Chiitrans/2/lite paired with VNR it will re-translate anything you copy/paste on the fly.

Same thing Menu > Text Settings and find if ITH is picking up a hook where text is showing up but VNR isn't translating it because it is highlighted to ignore. Katakana are mainly used for english words (アパート, spoken "apaato" means apartment).

Hiragana is used for pretty much everything, from particles to words that don't get to have a kanji.

One or several kanji together with(or without) hiragana parts become a word. 新 is the kanji for "new", if you want to make the adjective "new" you add a hiragana "shii" to make it 新しい (atarashii). It is also used in other words, for example in 新聞 (sign for new, sign for "hear"), except this time you pronounce it "shinbun" and it means newspaper.

So if you are learning vocabulary, it isn't enough to learn that "shinbun" means newspaper, you also need to know that it is written using the two kanji 新聞.

We've been through this already. The general consensus was 1 year to read with the help of the dictionary, 3 to 5 to read a complex VN without one. You can jump straight to read after you've learned kana though, just dont expect to finish something quickly.
If it helps you to get motivated, most of the H-games have a minimal use of kanji and the learning process is entirely up to how dedicated you are.

I did it myself when I learned, it took me one night each for katakana and hiragana. I just wrote them all down, stared at them for a while, and then took realkana's tests over and over until I got them all right.
