CURIE IS NOT IN VAULT 81.

She's in the secret Vault 81, the side area for the scientists to experiment on the vault dwellers.

There's some dumb quest that I don't know the triggers for, but basically that little shit kid who comes up to you gets sick and you need a cure, who cares.

Anyway, you can follow that quest and go through a lame ruined vault filled with molerats, or you can cheat. Right after the entrance to Vault 81, there's a locked elevator. Open it with the old "unlock" console command, and head in. You'll find Curie instantly, and the quest will update to a late stage. She'll ask to join you when you leave the vault or finish the quest.

So by the end of the game my S.P.E.C.I.A.L. could be 10 10 10 10 10 10 10? Soft cap is 50 right? Start with 21, 7 bobbleheads, 1 special book, so you already have 29, one per level so there's 50 more possable and theres 70 SPECIAL's in all (10 each, 7 stats). 50+29 is 79!

You can even get 9 perks with your maxed build. More if you get like 4 st and use power armor the whole game because that gives you 11st when its on anyways.

Used a VPN, been playing it all night. I honestly went in with dumpster-level expectations and I have to say I'm loving it so far.

As far as bad stuff, there's the obvious. The environment looks like a graphics mod of Fallout 3 or NV with better models for people and creatures, and the framerate drops are numerous, but not unplayably bad (on my PC I'll get a drop into the 40's that lasts a few seconds every 5 minutes). Though I did find two areas where the framerate is constantly bad. There's this little delay whenever you start moving too. In third person the character transitions from standing still to a walking/running animation and it doesn't feel too bad, but in first person you are just frozen in place for a 1/3 of a second before you move, it feels very weird, but I got used to it.

The good: Literally everything else.

And I have to say, yes the mouth animations look like dogshit, but I was not expecting the AMAZING full body animations. The enemy animations are like they're from a completely different studio. The amount of keyframes in each enemy animation is easily 4 times or more the amount they had in 3/NV. The way enemies stumble when running, duck in and out of cover, dodge low and to the side as they charge you. It looks amazing. And the absolute best are the feral ghouls, holy shit.

No spoilers here, I'll keep this vague. But there was this amazing moment I had with this sort of feral ghoul unique/mini-boss. I hit him with a sneak attack and followed up with all my AP's worth of attacks in VATS, which was barely not enough to kill him (needed 2 more shots). I hit him once while he was reeling back, but when he charged me he did this really natural looking stumble/side-dodge that made me miss my shots. He closed the distance in an instant and I was panicking, only able to kill him at the last second when he was right in my face. It actually got my heart racing.

Is there anyway to change the aim to a toggle mode? I can't stand having to hold the button to aim, it's much easier to just press it to toggle aim.

Most games just allow you to change this in the menu, but some games are retarded and don't. Usually with those games you can just go into the game files and just change a single number to swap it from hold or toggle, but i can't find it anywhere in fallout's files.

The combat was something I really wasn't expecting to be remotely impressed by, but it's MILES better than the other Bethesda games. Ranged combat doesn't feel like a horrible slog.

It's not up to actual FPS standards, but for something that relies on damage values, it's about as good as it gets.

Is it me, or is everything overlevelled? I started on hard difficulty, but I kept encountering level 10-15 mobs, and it was almost impossible to kill them, especially with the shitty guns I have.

The game feels a little bland too, some areas area really fun, and others are empty, with nothing special to find or scavenge... Any place I can find some good loot? And I thought the game was supposed to be scaled better? Every area is overlevelled for me...

I haven't tried many weapons but melee doesn't seem to have any combos, it's just one swing. On the otherhand, melee weapons get some nice perks and out damage a lot if not all of the guns. If you do a stealth character I imagine it would work great with the 4x damage bonus.

The laser rifle from the first BOS quest is still serving me well for full blown firefights. Also have a Silenced Powerful 10mm Pistol which works for all stealth needs. Just had a .50 Sniper Rifle drop from a random raider which takes down a Super Mutant in one hit.
