After playing the game more (or more specifically the child paralogues) I'm almost completely convinced the AI behaves differently between Nohr and Hoshido.

In Nohr, if an enemy does 0 damage to a target, has 0% chance to hit against a target, or they're OHKO'd by a target, they generally choose not to attack and will go running for someone else instead. In Hoshido they're more than happy to charge to their deaths mindlessly.

Like the way everything suicides on Marx in Hoshido compared to them wanting to avoid him because he'll stomp their faces in in Nohr is kind of interesting.

So in Nohr I'm sure you fight a decent mix of enemy types, like a decent mix of Nohr classes and Hoshido ones with perhaps a slight increase in Hoshido ones, but what about in Hoshido? I know you'd fight plenty of Nohr units but how many Hoshido units do you fight in that path?

It's mostly early on, you fight Hoshido classes in chapters 8 and 10. Chapters 11, 19 and 21 you fight IK units which are a mix of Hoshido and Nohr classes.

Thanks to dumb luck pure strategical skill, Ike managed to have the boss shoot itself for the final blow after Urvaning it a few times, saving Abraham Lincoln.

I almost died at a few points on this but Marth's clutch healing saved the day.

Although only one guy here actualy cares, I gotta say I'm enjoying the level design. It really makes you think of interesting ways to deal with how the aliens are positioned. The fast forward certainly helps a lot too.

protips from someone who isn't very good either

1. Don't rush too much. Worry about turncounts on replays. That being said, therems reinforcements so turtling won't help.

2. Don't be afraid to use the save points to heal. I personally never use the full squad heals but the extra steam/HP can help when you are just figuring out the map.

3. Once unlocked, special skills can be used once every stage(not mission. For example, you can use a special three times in mission 1, as it has 3 levels to it). Shit's helpful.

4. Overwatch is good if you know a nesrby enemy will approach next turn.

5. There's a reason you can break the environment. Besides the obvious explosive barrels, there's crates to break that can make shortcuts.

I dunno, Lunatic+ is extremely bullshit. It's the only difficulty that can actually manage to potentially stop a Nostanking MU. I actually consider that part to be good, since it shouldn't be unbeatable, but I still hate that difficulty. Chapter 5 is the worst of all.

Well I got Lutz. I was freaked out when he went and suicided on Leon because I thought this would mean he wouldn't get recruited but it turned out killing him with Harold wasn't a requirement like I thought it might be.

Decent chapter otherwise. Kind of hard to position yourself to catch all the shit rushing towards you though, especially since a good number of them have Wyrm/Beastslayers or Hammers. Lots of opportunity for both XP and gold here.

Only have Siegbert, Shara and Eponine left now, which I'll tackle tomorrow.

Marth heals nearby allies for a good amount of HP.

Ike does a lot of damage to nearby enemies (it won't hit enemies behind him, though)

Both are pretty solid special moves. As for special skills, Marth negates enemy overwatch attacks(really good) and Ike can punt his allies(or enemies) forwards(also good). Using both together can allow Marth to quickly pass through enemy fire unscathed, and if this is near the end of the map Marth can just reach the goal without dealing with the nearby enemies(if the map's clear condition is reach goal).

Once you realize how each enemy works, you can plan a counter strategy. Hounds like to overwatch you, so do the same to them when they approach. Some enemies can't hurt you if you are on higher ground, abuse this.

Lucina is from an alternate future though and it's not exalted except for when another alternate future in the Future Past DLC occurs and the alternate future Lucina performs the awakening to turn it into the Exalted Falchion. keep in mind this isn't the Lucina that gets Naga's help and time travels to save her father in an alternate past.
