Winston has the best mobility out of all of those, and he doesn't need to commit to his shields like Reinhardt.

His gun may be weak but it does enough damage to take out a squishy or a backliner, and he'll be able to quickly jump to a teammate's aid.

I think he's going to be played as either a disruptor who will jump in and fuck enemy positioning, or as a bodyguard for your own key heroes.

How do you figure? Maybe if his grab reset on kill, but as it stands he can kill Mercy every 12 seconds if she's out of position, a lot of the others can use a cooldown to fly away / rewind / negate damage / stun Roadhog and kill him first / etc

And he doesn't do enough damage outside of hook combo for the enemy team not to ignore him (unlike Zarya who if you ignore is going to be shielding her teammates and doing pretty good damage and building up her game changing ult)

That said, I mostly agree with you on Winston but his shield is so powerful (much like McCree's flashbang) that you really can't buff him unless you nerf the shield and then you'd make him inferior to Reinhardt

From every video I've seen of him, there were only two occasions where he hooked a squishy and they managed to escape.

As for him not doing enough damage, his hook provides such insane pressure that you're going to be afraid of him regardless of how much damage he's doing without it. His ultimate isn't really that bad either.

His Ult is crap beyond being a distraction. If his hits did more than the 50 damage that they did then he might be an actual threat, or maybe if the hits knocked people comedically far so as to actually displace them.

His barrier, and moreover his ability to be anywhere with the barrier is what makes him not completely shit. But his gun is just too shit. I can only pick squishy supports because I have more health than them. If his leap recharged every five seconds and did 100 damage then he could at least draw his damage from somewhere else and it would be a skillful way to actually kill folks.

I get low damage on such a mobile and tanky guy, but it's just plain too low.

Has anyone that used Torb tried to do something else besides, I dunno, sit behind your turret like it's TF2? Rivet Gun doesn't exactly tickle and more important, gives you Ult at a pretty high rate. When you use Molten Core, you gain 100 scrap instantly, which seems like a much faster way of getting scrap outside of randomly waiting for team mates to die.

Anyone else think the tanks are horribly balanced?

Reinhart and Zarya are so much better than the other three it's insulting, Winston is only okay because leap + bubble shield is easy and useful. Roadhog has no defensive skills at all but at least he's hard to kill and the hook can make plays. D.Va however is complete trash.

I've watched streams with her and I honestly think she's bugged, she dies way too fast for 500 health with 400 of it being shield health. And her fucking rapid fire mech shotguns are weaker than her pistol when she's in waifu form, that can't possibly be right.

Armour is only -5 damage reduction. Which means a gun that does some 200+ damage boosted hit doesn't give a shit because 210 damage -5 is still 205 damage. Where as a gun that just deals 10 per bullet or pellet just got it's damage cut. It is -5 damage per instance of damage. It counters high fire-rate, but low damage weaponry. Where as high burst weaponry doesn't really care. If Zen had +50 armour and got hit by a damage boosted McCree or Widowmaker he'd still die in one shot due to their weaponry. As the process would be something like this:
McCree damage boosted 210 - 5 damage due to Zen having armour = 205 damage.
50 armour eaten through due to it only taking 50 damage of 205.
155 damage to Zen's remaining 150 shields + health which is lethal damage that will kill him.

If he had Symmetra's shield and Torb's armour boost though he would survive a damage boosted IK from McCree.

I feel like they simultaneously did a great job and a fucking terrible job with D.Vas design.

Her Ult and the whole "Running around outside the mech" thing is fantastic design that looks fair and fun. And her boosters are also great.

But her defense matrix is god awful, I'm pretty sure Genji has the same skill but way better since it reflects the attacks and he's a fucking offensive class.

And her guns are just retarded. I think I know what went wrong though. They thought "Well it's a mech so it doesn't need to reload, but having a highly mobile class with an infinite clip would be OP so let's slow her down to a crawl while she uses it." And that's good, that makes sense. Except they gave it abysmal damage and high spread. Her regular pistol is literally better at killing people than the gatling shotguns on her fucking mech. That's just retarded.
