I honestly have no idea what role she serves, she can't heal and her defense matrix is by far the worst of all the tank shields. So she sucks at tank.

She has high mobility/health but does shit damage that also makes her move slow as fuck so she can't effectively assassinate/throw out a lot of damage.

Her ult is just area denial like Hanzos dragon except it leaves her with only 150hp and a pistol after using it.

These answers to the business model are actually so alarming that I feel considerably more wary about purchasing the game. How can a company this big be so lacking in foresight?

Blizzard should not be unfamiliar with multiplayer practices. Post launch content support is the lifeblood of games in the online multiplayer space, and it's the essential component to having regular and renewed interactions between the developer and the userbase. If Blizzard has no idea what they are doing after launch with their multiplayer game even on the most base level of how it will operate I'm sort of just blown away.

Symmetra is weird. She has her turret nests and her charge shot is situationally really good, but her offense is awkward.

The best business decision is giving beta to people who don't preorder all of Blizzard's shit anyway.

The only way I can see D.Va working is as some kind of flanking tank. Her mobility is insane and her weapon is decent enough at close range plus she has a ton of health.

I imagine she'd be quite the pain in the ass to deal with if she was behind enemy lines. Not to mention that Ult is probably the best area denial tool in the game.

But there's no way she can work as a classic tank like Reinhart or Winston.

some of the first impressions videos for junkrat and roadhog have their dual origin story.
tracers origin story is floating around somewhere, but Soldier 76's is the only one on Overwatch YT channel, which is pretty dumb.
the origin story videos are low effort anyway, presented a lazy animated comic book style with a voice over.
the actual cinematics are where the good stuff starts.

Don't worry anon I completely agree with you. It's why a lot of people are so pissed that they're calling this a "beta" when it's clearly a targeted demo release. When the devs refer to it as a beta, a lot of really engaged people are practically offering their time for free expecting to help devs find problems and bugs. What happened instead is that Blizzard pretty much told everyone who didn't have a stream that they weren't as important as people who own webcams and also stupid enough to believe that this isn't a marketing ploy.

got to play almost a dozen times at blizzcon this weekend. i'm not in the beta but i did get some experience with pharah, D.Va, and symmetra. symmetra seems kind of stupid and a little weak to me. pharah is really good except her ult leaves her super vulnerable and i died before really doing damage half the time. D.Va is super fun and super cute, and she is easily the best looking model in the game. her ult has a bigger range than the effect suggests. little easter egg in the new map that shows a guy in a movie poster with six arms and handguns- possibly a new character. kinda subtle like d.va's foreshadowing.
