Any guide out there on how to start into trading UC? I have none, and I'm not going to buy into the market with real dosh.

Is there any reason to keep playing, /npg/? I've had an account since 2013 that I've left abandoned; has three pound adopts, one of which I painted Darigan. I had an old NT comic going on for six issues, but since then I've kind of stopped. I don't want to lose my account to purging though, doesn't it get purged when you leave it alone and inactive for two years?

If you have nothing, start with a well named BD pet. Mine is a 5L.
Problem is, as time goes on, BD pets deflate while UC pets inflate.
So unless you have a stockpile of cupcakes to fall back on, you might want to trade your BD pet for a 3/4l/name/nickname/real word pet eventually.

Take the above advice with a grain of salt; I'm not an expert, this is just what I read.

Fucking lazy Indian staff. I understand that TNT can use images submitted to the site, but the original artist asked people to not submit her illustrations to the Beauty Contest/Art Gallery/etc. So they used some stolen art. I would be pretty surprised if anyone used that image in the BC/etc recently though, it's really fucking old.

JumpStaff TNT is planning to, along with releasing a "Mystery limited-edition species" every day, introduce a new colour or outfit for 2 pets every day of next week, for birthday celebrations.

I mean, if my memory serves, whatever you create on Neopets and submit there can technically be considered TNT's property -don't quote me on that, I may be mistaken- but I really hope they're going to do more than give us art, when we all know there's some serious programming and bug-fixing to do, and a lot of their art has proven to be slightly below par, or stolen.

Seriously, TNT. Where are the bug-fixes, and new games and apps and stuff? They'd better be here for the birthday week.

This is true. Someone is going to have to educate me on this because I'm not too sure if this only applies to images which are submitted to contests, or if it applies to any images used anywhere on the site. But if it only applies to contests, the lady who drew this definitely didn't upload it herself. Her account has been frozen since I believe before JS took over (someone broke into her account and stole her UC Grey Ixi) and she didn't have any Korbats on her account. So someone would have had to "steal" it and upload it as their own creation without her permission for them to use it.

Since JS owns Korbats there isn't anything she can do, but it's still a dick move to do something like that. You don't just slightly modify someone else's illustration and claim it as your own. That's something you would expect from some 14 year old, not a company like this.

This was her account. If they can use any image which is uploaded anywhere to the site then they must have been keeping it for a while. I can't remember if she had an adoptables page or not now, but if she did it would have been cleared a while ago.

I want an Ice Krawk all of a sudden. It seems like a really tough one to get. My plan is to buy Pirate krawk MPs and then use the lab ray until it either changes to Ice or use another MP to rinse and repeat.

Is this a futile effort? I've never used the lab ray before (just bought it), and my bank isn't exactly padded either (barely 25m). Is there any chance I'll get it, or is there some other method I can try?

That sounds like a sound way to get plenty of Random Events.
It's also possible that this being the birthday week somehow increased the odds of getting Random Events, like with the Birthday Theme... but I doubt it's likely.

So, I know the new colours were already posted in the thread, but nonetheless, here they are, as well as the new outfits that became available today.

What do you think of the new customization stuff?

Personally, the Strawberry Blumaroo looks okay. A little bright for my tastes. Kind of a "glaring" red, to me.
That said, I have a hard time finding fault with the Pastel Acara.
It actually looks good. The yellow ears and paws look natural, and the white front and underbelly look great with that shade of green, I think.
Really, I guess my only issue is that maybe the eyes would look good as another colour... blue maybe?
But then again, I've no idea how that would work out in practice, and they still look good as is.

First off, sorry about neglecting to give a tally last time. As I had said, was rather worn out from that week.

Anyway, seems birthday week has made the people pretty eager and active, because there's plenty of people in each faction, and a lot of people think it's gonna be a close one.

Among the Avatars, Help, and Battledome boards, a lot of factions are popular.

Plenty of people seem to "need" the Order's Avatar, or want the Cartographication Boon, but there was a pretty big thread on the Avatars board for recruiting people into The Thieves Guild. And knowing how dedicated Avatar collectors can be....

That said, there's plenty of "Bank Boon" bandwagon brigade users about the boards, so Seekers is a strong candidate, too.

But onto actual numbers:

About 91 people have said they will join The Order of the Red Erisim.
About 50 people have said they will join The Thieves Guild.
About 28 people have said they will join The Seekers.


I, personally, joined the Order, because it's the last Avatar I need, and unless there's an NC Mall-wide sale, or NC is given out, I have enough NC for a Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie, but not a Training Fortune Cookie. The latter would just make me lose sleep anyhow, so if I'm gonna spend some NC, I may as well wait and see if I can use with the Refreshed Quest Request Boon.

I think the Water Meerca doesn't look too bad, and the 8-Bit Cybunny is pretty cute, but neither is my favorite colour.

The outfits are okay, and interesting, too....

And as someone who's owned a Ruki for a while -I made it when I was young, kept it ever since.- I don't care that much about them being released.

Oh, and Tarla's 4th & final interval for today began just recently.
She'll show up once, for 15 minutes, during the hours of 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 PM, NST, & between 10 & 45 minutes after whatever the current hour is.

Not too sure about restocking, but.... Blue raises Defense by 5, Pink raises Endurance by 5, and Yellow raises Strength by 5.

Strength is the easiest to raise, because Turmaculus sometimes gives pets an extra point of Strength, and there's more items that can raise a pet's strength than for most other stats.
Defense is particularly neutral. Personally, I recommend the pink ones, which grant Endurance, if you're using the Mystery Island Training School. You have to pay in Yellow/Brown Codestones, but the training is the fastest. Also, unlike other training schools, you can train your pet's HP to 3 times the level of the pet there before you need to increase level, and by extension, potentially the time and cost of the courses.
Just make sure you don't let your pet have any stats go over twice their Level -or thrice it, with Endurance- if it'd mean getting level back in range would mean moving to a more costly/time-consuming rank, before you've maxed out stats there.

Also, I've heard the Lab Ray has a tendency to increase HP, Strength and Agility a lot, but decrease Level and Defense a lot, too, so you may wish to consider that.
