Brave Heroes aren't nearly as bad as everyone says, they're just unimpressive as an ending class because no S-rank crit bonus. Good caps and growths.

Blacksmith/Shura: decent skills, growths aren't completely awful (Blacksmith is actually similar to Holy Lancer), some cool animations. Ogre Strike is great with a Killer Axe.

Weapon Master: if you're not using Fuuga, promote Hisame into it with a Child Seal; he'll get at least C-ranks in all weapons. Give him the weakness-exploiting weapons (Beastkiller, Hammer, etc).

Ballistician: They're shittier archers who double less in man-to-man combat, but Bombard is fucking great for softening up groups so you can pick them off in one round. Put a character here after they're already a decently high level so they pick up skills fast (people recommend Gunther for this, any other prepromote or overlevelled guy will work as well).

Grandmaster: Saizou(/Grey with the right mom) or Leon.

Fug, forget what I said about C-ranks. Was misremembering "almost C-rank". A stronger mom would be more useful for him, but he's held his own pretty well.

Really, the thing that makes most of these classes sub-par is that S-rank crit bonuses exist. Most of them aren't really bad, it's just a matter of "if you have a baseline 40% crit chance at all times, why the fuck aren't you doing that".

Dark Knight Nyx!Eponine was pretty nice when I took a skill detour on the way to Witch; with +1 mov she gets great range and her base strength should be serviceable, if not great (though maybe I got lucky, I haven't run the numbers).

Remember that you can still recruit Kellam and get him and Chrom back to the starting point without triggering the enemies to charge you, so you can get your pair ups in line. I recommend having Kellam behind Fred and Chrom behind MU and letting them kill everything, it's still just gonna be luck though since there's no where to hide in the bottom part.
