So story on this, the EZ and I are both level 30 and we were queueing with a group consisting of a level 21 (mundo), 20 (WW) and a 10 (Sona).
The whole time mundo and ww would just run into the team and try to box nasus and tahm then complain about being killed. Mundo even at one point said "anyone who plays kench deserves to be punched in the mouth" and stuff of the like about all the characters "bard shouldn't be able to freeze us from the far away" "they don't have to try because bard can just go through walls" etc. There's more that happened but i don't feel like it's necessary to explain.
Is there any hope for them /lolg/?

Karthus really does require no skill. Bring exhaust and you're pretty much golden.
Takes a little time to figure out how to land your Q on a moving target, but even if everything goes wrong, you can always hit R for free kills.

It's in ARAM where He's the peak of fun, though. The one mode where you truly can go "suicide bomber Karthus " and not only does it work, but it can also win you the game.

I got my older brother into League a couple years ago and just let him pick whatever he wanted and shit. This guy never BMs in games, ever. Guy's basically a white knight as far as gaming goes.

I leave this fucker alone for a week to learn the game before I queue with him, and we get into a game and he locks in Karthus.

I know, he was really strong back then. But then they took his CC, then they took his dmg, THEN they took a lot of distance off his ult. His solo kill potential in lane is pretty much non existant these days.

This is really a shame for me because I played him back in the day where scalings on AP were so bad, Kass R stacking was a viable way to build him, hahahaha.

He's hard to balance due to his ult, so if he gets even a bit of a hand he goes crazy. Now, this might be hard to grasp, but if you die, you have 4 seconds of casting if you want to use your ult. That really isn't enough to do good. The passive is just there so anyone trying to dive you can get killed for his effort.

Any good katrhus is going to tell you that passive is just the icing on the cake, it isn't something you build around, especially concidering half the cast can just mobility away from you.

I don't even play Karthus but I know that when he dies you have enough time from 3/4q's and ult depending on cdr. Not to mention his aoe bullshit that zones the entire time. His passive is by far the strongest part of the champion. Kathus' at my Elo just go in and suicide and it's impossible to lose a teamfight.

Taking out his silence CC makes sense in everything but thematically (since now his joke doesn't make sense) because he was absolutely stomping mid lane (and every lane, actually).

Reducing his Q and E ratios makes sense. In fact, I'd even say that his E ratio was fine, but his Q had too low of a cooldown with too high of damage as well as a shield. So that definitely needed to be nerfed. His ultimate damage needed to be nerfed so he was mostly using it as mobility, and backing it up with damage on his Q.

In fact, here's what I would've done:

Q: 60% AP ratio
W: 70% AP ratio
E: 70% AP ratio
R: 0 damage, same low cooldown as before, mana cost beginning at 80. Low cooldown between blinks letting you blink throughout the map.

Q, W, and E all have the same base damage as before. This allows him to keep his true assassin role as he has high mobility without his being unstoppable. Maybe the blink has a static cooldown at like 3 seconds (to allow for cooldown reduction). That way he blinks in, does his full crazy combo, then blinks back out.

This allows a window of opportunity to CC him for ganks to shut him down. Also keeps from double blinks occurring.
