Play a couple of games and see what cards you get that synergise with your team-mate.
Also, if you're priest, prioritise healing the Paladin with your power over yourself. You can get the lightwells down to heal yourself, but it won't heal him.
Also remember that the Argent Protector can only shield his own minions. So use your buff cards to keep his alive, rather than yours.

It's perfectly logical because you've never gotten anything from friendly duels except for Total Domination but that specifically states ALL modes.

Coop just means you aren't fighting your opponent directly is all.

How can this game be made more novice friendly?

I propose instead of having 2 categories of play (ranked and casual), there be 3: An additional category that you can only play when you have under 300 wins, decks restricted to one legendary or less.

Further, losses should generate gold at a slow rate than wins but greater than 0. Every 6 losses, 10 gold? This allows noobs who are getting curbstomped every game to still get new cards

I read this compelling argument about why dr. boom isn't overpowered. The gist of it was a 7 mana or higher minion (legendary at that) should create massive tempo swings to justify playing it. challenger is a bit more debatable. It potentially gives more value than boom for 1 less mana. The downside is you have to run pally secrets, but even those have decent synergies and aren't terribly cloggy.

could I get some thoughts/advice on my deck? i pulled a golden sparring partner from my ranked chest after last season so i threw this together and it's been doing really well for me, lots of fun. main thing i'm wondering about is whether it's better to use slam/bash or to put in shield slam and shield block instead.

Boom creates 2 1/1 minions that can potentially do 8 unavoidable damage and don't drain your deck.

Challenger saps your deck of cards, and you're required to run things that are generally considered the worst secrets in the game. They were never used before TCG in any paladin meta decks. The only reason they are getting play is because challenger puts them in play all at once.

Even with all of them in play, you can still play around them. They are absurdly perdictable.

hard to say, i'm still testing it, but it's mostly a minion-based midrange deck which is what i like about it. i end up spending most of every game just trading and killing the opponent's shit and armor'ing up until i either get a relatively powerful board and can outrace them or get to my chrom/nef win cons. even if they flood the board, you've got weapons and strong minions and plenty of taunts, with exe/axe/slam/bash/bite/corrupt, you've got 12 pieces of removal, deathlord is really legit against aggro but i'm considering replacing it with unstable ghoul. deathlord is such a devastating bolster target though for only 1 mana more.

so at the moment i'd probably say no, just because i'd rather take control of the board by playing my own minions. this is more of a midrange deck instead of a control deck.

doesn't really matter because you get 2 cards out of the deal. card draw hasn't really been an issue for me, you have slam, azure, chrom/nef, and weapons are basically like card draw as they often 2-for-1. besides, the deck will often play just 1 card per turn or even have turns early on where you do nothing and just armor up.

In constructed they aren't up to snuff.

Undercity Valiant isn't good enough to take any of the 2-drop slots currently in rogue decks, and SI:7 Agent is better to fill out your curve. In arena, it's decent. 2 mana 3/2's aren't bad at all and it's better than a lot of 2 drops later on in the game.

Shadopan Calvary simply doesn't fit in rogue deck at the moment. Tempo Rogue is something Blizzard has tried to make viable for a while, but it's not working. In the best scenario (if you save the coin, which messes up the whole tempo thing) you get a 4 mana 6/7 that silences to a 3/7. Simply not good enough. It'll work on the lower rungs of the ladder, but it's nothing special above that. In arena, it's okay. Better if you get some backstabs, but if you can keep board control it'll maintain it. It's a 'win more' card.
