A few weeks before Polarized we speculated on who gave Nathan his gun. I'm guessing it was intended to be Jefferson but that really doesn't make much sense after the fuck-up with Rachel. Nathan's incompetence is what gets Jefferson screwed in the end so the idea of him giving the boy a weapon is just bizarre. I liked the theory back when we thought Sean was involved that Nathan's father armed him as an insurance policy in case Jefferson went off the rails.

I'd like to hold Kate's hand.

That photo of Nathan posed with Rachel kind of baffles me. Is she still alive or was she dead by that point? If she was dead then Nathan seemed a bit out of character. We used to have a theory that he was drugged as well but we've got nothing to support that in Episode 5, so presumably he was conscious of what was going on.

Despite having violent outbursts Nathan's been characterised as a coward and seemingly has an aversion towards blood and death. His killing of Chloe is accidental and he both panics for himself and makes desperate (seemingly genuine) apologies to her. He regards Rachel and Frank's "blood oath" as disturbing and he's been haunted by what happened to Rachel for months (The 'Rachel in the Dark Room' drawing). I just don't see Nathan remaining calm and relaxed as he lays down beside the corpse of a girl he may have crushed on.

I know lots of people that chose the bae ending and it frustrates me because i dont understand at all.

The romance between them feels like they just threw it in there. From Episode 1-4 I thought Chloe was in love with Rachel too and didn't show any feelings for Max.

I don't know what happened over the last day or two to make people so anti-pricefield. We were all getting along fine post-ep5 (warrenkucks aside). People realise it's an optional romance and not everyone goes for it, but that also means that non-pricefielders should understand the same thing, that maybe they can't see it because of the way they played the game, or maybe they were just resistant to that reading of the text.

The fact that all it takes for Max to question her feelings towards Chloe is one little "I dare you to kiss me" peck on the lips pretty much makes it canon that she does have confused feelings towards Chloe. You can only decide whether or not she will realize those feelings in your playthrough, but even if you don't, they're still there.

Sometimes,aside from your choices you can see Max's into Chloe; she was jealous her from Jeffershit in Ep4, nightmare sequences..

And no to mention the last journal entry if you kissed her in Episode 3:

Did anyone else find Max and Chloe's relationship got boring after episode 2? Beyond that, their awkward reuniting was over, there was no uncertainty or tension anymore, it was just chilling. Unless you were waiting for gayness I guess, but even that didn't really have much palpable tension behind it, since it had to be ambiguous enough that a players could have Pricefield and NonPricefield playthrough without Dontnod having to alter literally anything.

With how hard Chloe was on Max when they first reunited, I was expecting quite a story between them. Max making it up to her, Max getting the spine to call Chloe out on being a bit of a dick, seeing them clear the air on WHY Max didn't contact Chloe and why Chloe didn't feel she could have contacted Max (or if she tried and got ignored), etc. Like, as a player I can see why it happened, but they both have such sticks up their arses about it to start with and never actually talk about it, it's just suddenly dropped after Chloe bitches about it in the truck.

After episode 2, the only movements in their relationship that I recall really feeling were Chloe's blowup in her truck (which barely involves Max and is resolved in a fucking 'sorry I was generally being a butt' text message) and Chloe apologising in the hospital (which is optional).
Max's insecurity about where she stands in comparison to Rachel is completely dropped, the tension and regret over all the years apart is forgotten (which if anything should hurt even MORE once they start to truly reconnect and realise all the time they wasted being too scared and insecure to pick up the phone).

At the end of episode 4 in particular they're all over the place. Max is irresponsibly enabling Chloe's bloodrage, Chloe is shitting on Max's caring about the double moon or Warren or the contest, Max pulls away from Chloe to bitch about Vic winning a contest Max didn't even enter, they're both yelling at each other in the junkyard. Urgh.

The romance isn't canon, but the fact that Max cares more about Chloe than anyone else is literally the central focus of the game and any of you other shippers need to accept that. Your ship is a crackship. This is not an omnibus dating sim where you can choose whatever route you want. This game only has a Chloe route. For example, if you yes to the drive-in or say no she states that she sees Warren as brother than anything.

So sexual insecurities about Chloe count in her favour, but sexual insecurities about Warren don't? It's natural to be scared that someone as thirsty for you as Warren will be more interested in sex than anything, this fear applies both if Max only sees him as a friend AND if she sees him romantically, because it's ambiguous based on player choice.

Chloe's side of it only really works romantically though, yeah, you don't get all weird and insecure about your good friend kissing a bunch of people. Michel says they'll just be friends in the Bae ending if they were played as just friends, but they really didn't put much effort into selling that rout for the nightmare.

I wouldn't go that far. Chloe is the main plot thread that needs to be tied up, so if they only had the resources to pick one it'd obviously be her. But almost all of those things are made for the very purpose of enhancing the story of Chloe and Max. Almost all memorable songs play during Chloe and Max scenes. The lighting is so often used to make you feel nostalgic about their rekindled friendship. The mystery is used to give them a reason to work together and become close again. I mean, I guess I'm glad you enjoyed the game, but I myself could never bring myself to enjoy a story driven game where I hated one of the 2 characters the game was built around.

Do we actually know whether she was born in AB? This has always been an odd detail, because a few of the various Blackwell students "supposedly" were born in AB as well ... but despite the fact that it's a small town with only a few local haunts, and likely on a single primary school, Max doesn't know any of them. Is this a detail that was in her school file, which are documents that are notorious for being inconsistent with information we learn elsewhere in the game?

I'd say it's probable that Kate isn't from AB, and that her parents live out of town. Well, her parents definitely live out of town - why would it take them two days to visit from the hospital, why would they talk about serious issues over the phone, why would they send postcards/letters, etc?

The latter is presumably because she's boarding there but it's never been confirmed that her family moved like the Caulfields did. If they're going to make S2, they should make it about somebody else. Completely disconnected from S1. "Life is Strange" sounds like a good name for an anthology about teenagers/young adults dealing with drastic changes in their lives.

Let me try and channel my inner David Cage: The twist is that the entity that gave Max her powers reveals herself as... Chloe. When Chloe dies on that bathroom floor her soul transforms into an evil goddess of chaos, but part of her wants to prevent that, so she gives Max the power to save her.

The more alternate realities there are where Max saves Chloe, the weaker chaos goddess Chloe becomes and the more realities there are where she gets sacrificed, the stronger she becomes. So chaos Chloe sends tornados and shit to push Max towards letting her die to increase her power to finally destroy the universe and all timelines altogether.

Max prime now has to travel to alternate universes and recruit all the Maxes who failed to save Chloe to prepare for the final battle against evil chaos Chloe. Also, Rachel is still irrelevant. Also, the homeless woman near the diner is the leader of a secret organization that knew of a prophecy about all this shit.
