I tried them on Simple and really, the only difference it does is there's a delay before they attack, but once they do hit you it's most likely a game over.

I'm playing on hard and enemies I fight are many levels over me. But I've found that levels aren't a good indicator, I've fought level 90+ enemies that gave me less trouble than Rose/Zaveid

Normally enemy level is constant, so if I can't beat a boss I just come back later when I'm leveled. But since this is a mirror match I'm wondering if their levels scale with yours

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying either Hearts R or Zestiria but I'm hesitating and I've heard complaints for both. I like Eternia, Symphonia, Legendia, Abyss, Vesperia and Xillia, but didn't like Graces and Xillia 2. In Graces I hated the battle system (The camera behind the player and the way artes worked) and thought the dialogues were silly (Tough I still liked the characters) and in Xillia 2 I didn't like the chapter format, all the reused content and the battle system (I think it reached a point where there was too much unnecessary mechanics). There's not really a point of no return, though once you see the place where Mikleo was sacrificed as a baby that means you're right outside the final boss' room. There are warp portals that can take you all the way back to the entrance of the Mabinogio Ruins, or you can just use the final save point to travel anywhere you want.

Depends on the character for me. Asbel and Hubert were definitely the best of both games, but I like Mikleo and Zaveid better as combat casters, and all casters can do the magic upgrade thing early on.

Friendly reminder if you want the ugly Repede attachment:

After you get the letter from the pastor in Pendrago, you can only continue the sub-event to track down Meyvin after clearing all spiritual trials. That's when you can freely walk on the Grand Camelot Bridge.

A merchant should be there who will tell you to go to some ruins located near the Wind Trial. Warp there ASAP because the cut off for that is after a certain fight with a certain powerful enemy just outside the Earth temple.

Once you pass that, Meyvin will no longer be in the temple and will park his ass in Lohgrin.

Don't know of any other cutoffs other than the Cowboy Hat early in the game (sell the pipe to Rose; never sell Alisha's dagger or give it to the guard)

Do any other characters get as many outfits as Rose(outside dlc)? I'm only unlocking new ones for her, like

The deep sleep thing comes from that starlight scene where Sorey and Mikleo talked about it. Sorey told Mikleo his plan and Mikleo said it would take decades or centuries. And I think there was a skit about it, too.

I think Dezel died because what he did was to save Rose, he was cutting off her connection with the hellion. Heldalf died pretty quickly after the Seraphim entered him, so I guess that was the difference? Maybe if Rose had died with the hellion Dezel would have been okay.

The later ending with Mikleo is further into the future. I guess they didn't want to draw an in-between Mikleo for just that one short scene.

When Sorey defeated Heldalf, Maotelus needed a new vessel so the land could be purified. The purification process took hundreds of years, the grave you see there is Rose' grave who died already of old age, the timeskip was probably around 80-90 years which is why Mikleo still looks young because seraphim ages slow.
Now since Mikleo looks a lot older in the final cutscene, it is implied that over 700 years have passed.

The "bad end" comes in that he actually DOES end up badly hurting Marta and realizes he's betrayed EVERYONE's trust (and, ultimately, screwed Ratatosk over by not giving him a chance at all), so he ends up stabbing himself and sealing himself away.

This is a little thing that always bothered me in Vesperia. Just before the cutscene where Yuri kills Cumore, you get the Blue Dragon sword for Yuri which you naturally equip because it's stronger and has great skills. Really? I was satisfied with the Symphonia adaptation. Even though it diverged from the source material, it's not like any of the major plot points changed. They only had 12 episodes to work with. Much better music and animation, lots of screen time for some folks who didn't get much justice in the game like Regal and Yuan.

Meanwhile Abyss had a meager animation budget spread over 24 episodes and didn't do anything particularly noteworthy other than animating the manga side stories. It was too safe of an adaptation if you ask me.

Colette's entire motivation for saving the world is LLOYD LLOYD LLOYD and she doesn't even fight in the trials that are supposed to be hers.

Lloyd's exsphere is EEEVVVIL for some reason and makes him a Super Saiyan.

Zelos' motivations and triple agent status are pretty much ignored.

Presea's backstory gets flipped all over the place taking away most of the reasoning for anything happening.

All the focus went to Regal's backstory despite not explaining things any better than the game did and stuff with Raine and Genis was ignored.

Skipped over the Tabitha thing only to inexplicably use her design in the wrong place.

Also apparently angels are packed with explosives.

The Zelos vs Regal fights were good, but I really hated that Colette wasn't allowed to fight at all and IMO the whole Dragon's Nest assault was pretty stupid. Everyone literally flew around and their weapons may as well have been lasers, and who knows why the angels exploded like downed fighter jets.

Overall a good game but much easier than the previous Tales games (played on Hard). Aramatization with its fuckhuge AOE abilities trivialized normal enemies. Early bosses were tough but later bosses were quite easy, even the field bosses that were 40 levels over me. Also easiest final boss ever, only difficult part was figuring out how to stop the laser. Might be because I used an All-Divide though
