That is exactly what it is. Once you hit 86 the exp you need to level drastically drops for 10 or so levels so you'll catch up anyway.

Monk looks good as fuck, but fuck if having only autoattack for 115 levels isn't bullshit.

For people who are having trouble levelling, make sure you talk to NPC's and do every quest
you should never have to grind

Look at the world map for places your level, the game isn't quite as linear as you'd think

Though there is no reason not to do 50-60 in a few dungeon runs

Rank6 up to debate, But better zaibas + AoE attribute from C2 krivis would be a good zombie-making tool. Druid's AoE might do the same job though.

About stats, full INT gives you better Zaibas and Cure. full SPR makes your life easier overall (and shit ton of max mana and a shit ton of regen) which makes Effigy spamming viable. Remember that NO bokor damaging skills scale at all, so you're free to invest into SPR/CON (Hex and zombie health actually scale with SPR).

Unfortunately bosses are a thing, and while leveling up, a 2:1 SPR/INT build is best. Enough scaling for zaibas/cure and enough mana to spam Effigy. before you have max (5) effigy never use it, so before then stay full INT

Cure's problems still stand.
-Too small
-pratically the same cooldown as Zaibas but only 1 use (no overheat, which means Zaibas deals double the damage)
-Time-based, spends charges on nothing if nothing is on it. Near misses are too devastating, even if the mob steps on it after 3 seconds, that's 3 charges of dmg you lost, while Zaibas doesn't have this problem
-Does not hit flying/hovering targets, Zaibas does
-Is wonky on elevation (like stairs), might not hit anything, Zaibas always hits in its area

They may be similar in damage (..somehow), but in pratical terms Zaibas wins out in quality of life. Also, having both Zaibas 5 + Cure 5 is much better than only having Cure 10. Missing 1 of your 3 AoE's isn't as bad as missing your only AoE.

int increases your magic attack by 1, that literally all it does. It's the same as your rod/staff giving you magic attack. It's actually such a horrible stat to put points into.

Energy Bolt is "okay" early on, and it gets a buff against sleeping enemies when you have the appropriate attribute. But if you don't level it past 5, fucking forget about it and remove every point you invest because it'll be worth nothing. It depends somewhat on which route you go, too. If you go Cryo, for example, Energy Bolt loses all value because Ice Bolt is simply better and even when it's on cooldown you'd be unable to justify the waste of SP on Energy Bolt, SP better used on anything else you have.

If you don't go to Wizard's second circle, remove the points from Energy Bolt via respec around level 40-50

It's ok for the first levels, and it's damage is not terrible, but I've found I do more damage overall with just basic attacks with enchant fire because of the cast time and cooldown.

You can ignore it if you reset when you get higher rank shit. You can put some points into Lethargy and buy a cheap attribute that increases striking damage against the debuffed enemy. Doesn't work on your ranged attack from what I've noticed, only on the C one, but it's good if you party with clerics.

But yeah, Energy Bolt is one of your only damage source as Wizard and it can help fill in gaps of cooldowns for your first circles, but forget about it later.

From what I've seen Cure ticks every 0.7secs or so, and does it from the very start, because it might be used on allies. Because of that if nothing is on it, the damage is wasted, not accumulated. I've never seen Cure hit a mob for more damage or more times at the last second when a mobs finally steps on it. All I've seen from my missed Cures is a mob walking around, taking 1 or 2 ticks, and then Cure vanishes (from time, not because it spent all of its hits)

Bokor C1 to C2 is the worst thing in the world. You'll suffer just as much, if not more. you'll not have fun for a long time.

Not even I think I'll roll Bokor on final release. The resets really help the class out. Without them the first 80 levels would be even more painful.

Next characters I'm thinking of doing are Cataphract, Wugushi, and Sorcerer/Necro. In that order. They all seem to have a better life than poor pre-C2 bokors.

I've worked it out. I need 11 million exp to hit level 136. Between my current level and level 136, I will earn exactly 21 level 7 exp cards. This is 2.94 million exp.

I need to sit and grind just over 8 million exp. That is equivalent of going from level 1 to 81 by doing nothing but grinding on trash mobs.

Unless this level 130 instance dungeons shits out exp, these next few days are going to be suffering, and I do not suspect many people will hit above level 130.

So on release are the skill/stat resets going to remain?

I'm not stepping out of one nightmare into another, I'm staying with archer c3 -> wugushi for this beta until launch, when I'll probably roll bokor.

It just seems more fun than archer c3 because cleric -> krivis -> bokor is a little less tedious than 3 circles of archer. I also enjoyed cleric a lot when I played just up to about level 40 before I started the archer character, but I made a mistake by going krivis c2.

When you make the wugushi, don't go archer c3. Or quarrel shooter either.

Earthquake has more longevity only because it's such a big AoE, but its damage becomes irrelevant around the same time. It does a really good job of launching smaller targets into their air, though, which stops them from acting for a few seconds. I'd keep points in Earthquake just for that

Damage falls off unless you go full wizard, but it provides a decent/good breather for your other skills to go off cooldown.

Problem is it sends your neatly packed mob flying all over, so unless you're linker, it's a bit of a pain.

10 multishot and swift step are a given, that leaves 10 points

oblique is good while leveling, but it seems pointless now that i got some sort of aoe that doesnt drain my sp like crazy, heavy shot as well for single target damage with knockback.

The thing is i get the sense both of these are 1 point skills, but im not sure if better to leave them 1 point, or to raise them some. The SP cost is a lot now, but will it be forever? An extra 'free' 200 damage or so per hit on them isnt huge, but it could add up.

so with my remaining 10 points its either.

1 into each and then dump the rest into skills ill never use. max oblique (it does have that snare attribute), or max full draw (being able to knock things into my traps might be a good idea?)

I tested kneeling shot and its actually not that bad but crossbow range is shorter than bow range so the silly screen wide farming you can do with a bow doesnt work as well with an xbow, and im going rogue eventually so...

I dont know what to do. I could max kneeling and heavy and just toss out oblique, it really wouldnt make leveling that much harder come release since kneeling with a bow will level you fast.

Right seems to have better stats than most level 120 swords I've seen on the database, but left is much much cheaper and has a higher attack value pre-upgrade, but it has less aoe.

I have it dex:str 1:1 right now. I've tried all possible combinations, full str, full dex, 1:2 and 2:1.

Full STR is OK but you sometimes miss, full DEX will have you CRITing a lot but the damage will be very weak. CRITing with STR 2:1 is amazing but it almost never happens.

All Quarrel Shooter's skills are terrible. It's like being a rank 2 archer but without any benefits.
The shield does hardly anything and doesn't actually block projectiles. All it does it aggro ranged enemies.
Stone picking is bad enough as a nothing skill, but each stone weighs 100 so you either shoot one stone at a time or have to go back to town twice as often as any other class. Stone shooting does a lot of damage to enemies weak to crush but costs too much SP to actually use, has a long cast animation, and most enemies will resist the stun.
Caltrops are pretty weak. Small enemies usually won't walk over more than one or two and their damage isn't anything special.
I thought about powering through it to rank 2 when they get an aoe ability and teardown, but now I'm hearing that the aiming for their one neat skill is totally fucked anyway.

Not even their skills but the class itself is super lame. Their special attribute is to add their shield's defensive stats as attack power for 10 seconds after blocking an attack. Like thank god I have 50 con so my block is high enough to actually activate and I can add a whopping 20 damage to my attacks for 10 seconds. I couldn't have possibly just added 50 more strength that only gets more effective the farther I get into the game.

I don't think psychic pressure and sorcerer would gel together at all. The sorcerer summon drains 3% of your SP and prevents normal recovery and psychic pressure drains 4% of your SP every second. With 3 ranks in psychokino pressure is basically your only big damage spell.

Ranking is tied almost exclusively to level. There is some minor variance, but the vast majority of point you earn are from monster kills and quests completed (I have 16k points, like 15k of them come from those two things).

You cannot kill enemies significantly higher level than you, nor can you do quests over 10 levels above yours.

We're seing around 36 classes of the intended 80, and maps for about level 400 characters at best. You can solo and breeze through the game until you're almost 5th class, when it starts getting challeging enough for you to group up and grind.

That was a major problem with RO. The game was massively difficult from the begining, meaning that you were stuck for several hours levelling with one, or maybe two skills. On ToS, you can setup a variety of skill sets, so that by the time shit hits the fan, you're been having fun with the game for a while now.

The grinding could use some better scaling, though. Mobs between 0 and 100 could maybe give you a full 1% or 2% EXP, and it would still be fine. There's no need for the grind to be that difficult that early into the game.

You can probably get by with C2 Pyro if you got something else to support it, not sure how Linker C1 will do though. But Pyro is pretty good even later on as a C1. Just make sure your magic attack keeps going up. Generally that means upgrading your staff and maybe putting blue germs into it. INT helps too, get a healthy amount, but don't neglect CON and maybe SPR, you might not even need that much

linker's mostly there for fixing the pyro problems like large chunks of flying mobs ignoring fire ground, and needing to put fireballs on things melee is near.
which is absolutely the worst. I would do unspeakable things for a fireball attribute that makes it not get knocked around.
plus it lets you lump things up in one area and makes them take more magic damage.

if I wasn't gonna do linker c1 I'd do psycho c1. elementalist c1 doesn't really interest me and I'm pretty set on sorcerer.

This is with ACCELERATED EXP RATES and it's gotten to the point in which "0.01%" exp was gained per kill at like level 30. That's a touch too soon. I don't think RO had it that fucking bad that early.

In the core game, the peanut gallery is gonna shit up leveling even more, and based on acceleration at the present...

If you put it that way, yeah, Linker sounds pretty good for Pyro. I'd have no idea, I went Pyro1 and Psycho2 myself. Don't work that great together, pressure on the fireballs isn't that great, but Psycho has insane damage by itself. Swapping with Fireballs is nice, though.

so I'm a retard. The Ride UI is bugged and lists basic attack 3 times and then dismount. I used the first skill which is the same one they use when you're not riding them, so I didn't mess with it anymore. But you can use all their skills. It looks like they won't use anything except their first skill when you're not riding them.

With the current rates and doing all the quests, you can keep up until around 40, where enemies start being higher than you.
