My best save is at level 50, there is not much to do beyond this level.

Colliseum is postgame material, you get it as a request from Jocelyn, you can fight bosses from the game there again (and you can fight Frontier's Green Ruins boss, felt nice). You have several challenges in it, from easiest (fighting off waves of normal mobs) and up with bosses. I don't remember exactly, been a while since I did it.

Because one wasn't enough to torture you, event management is a double-dicking by TWO RNG rolls: the first one rolls which day in the future an event takes place and is done at least 1 day in advance, and the second rolls at 6 AM on that day to determine the specific event that takes place. A day that's designated as an event day WILL roll an event, so it's that first roll that's really the worst of it.

The way I've managed it as of late is to wait until the end of a festival day or event to get clearance, set the critters to handle the fields, round up people in events I'm hoping to see, saving and then doing several repetitions of sleeping for a week and resetting and taking note of when people tend to leave the most. Play up to within 2 days of that earlest event day, save and then sleep+reset through until the event you desire triggers on that day.

So I've played a lot of HM games (only haven't played Save the Homeland, Hero of Leaf Valley, Grand Bazaar, and Tale of Two Towns)

I haven't played animal crossing so I can't compare the two, but SoS has designated spots that can be customized with decorations that you craft. You don't get to rearrange the town layout.

You are given permission to decorate areas as you progress in the game. You can also customize your farmland and are given more freedom to do so. There are certain items that are restricted to the farm, but most things are fair game.

The safari is actually really simple. It's noting special.

The other countries are your trading partners. They each sell their own goods and unlocking them is how you progress in the game. That's where some the grind comes in.

Is there a cheap way to put soil growth rate back up in RF? I have some fruit trees on a plot and the growth rate is all the way down to 0.8x. I don't want to pull them off since they take so long to grow and the stuff you can buy from the grocery store is still kinda expensive for me.

I just got SoS, but the soundtrack is horrible. There's one track thats pretty much a 10 second loop playing constantly and the others seem just as repetitive. Does it get any better with the other seasons?

This happens to me in every harvest moon and rune factory. I'm really into it then near the end I completely burn out and don't really know what to do. I never even did post game in tides despite liking the game a lot.

farming in RF3 was pretty much completely optional. it helps cooking stuff for healing items and sometimes you need certain crops and meals for townsfolk but "mainstory" wise you can just spend the time you would be farming with grinding a bit more.
