You can check what categories you entered by clicking that button on the pageant page. As for dressing them, just coordinate colors and try to use the real walls as much as possible. Have you been getting them? You can get each event's early clear wall with 3 event girls if you don't miss too much stamina, so just buy the 100 DP set per month. Recently made loli templates used almost exclusively for ranking and Sarali outfits (like the watermelon sitting outfit) look good, but they're hard to come by.

Can't say my sample size is all that great, but out of 38 Blues and 22 Greens, I never got a single outfit or accessory that wasn't within the base gacha or its first expansion.

Also, compared to what I have written for my JP account with two roids, the one with only one roid ended before Morning 2, whereas the one with two roids ended at Evening 2. I suspect 3 would end before Morning 3 or something like that, and the more you have the more prep stages you'll go through.
