Yeah a lot of the times they try REALLY hard, and they both really do have terrible communication skills. On the Sonic Mania stream Paige ruined one of Pat's bonus rounds by touching him, then spent the entire rest of the stream apologizing and repeatedly blaming herself for everything that went wrong in his game even when she wasn't in the room. It was really nervous how she instantly started acting so wounded. And Pat hits this wall where he can't really articulate himself with her, and just stutters out the memeist spousal abuse jokes, as if he doesn't know what to say and has to fall back on some character. They're a fine couple and all, but they've both got their hang ups and show more than their fair share of autism and anxiety on stream.
It's also funny to watch Pat's reaction any time a donor asks what he's doing with his life. He's always like '...I don't know man, playing video games I guess'. I think they do it on purpose because it's funny.
