Photobooth thread? The quality is a bit crap
Also what are your thoughts on XCOM2 and the expansion? I didn't pay much attention to XCOM2 when it came out and had no idea it added so much content and it's basically like Enemy Unknown on steroids even before War of the Chosen.
Why is Kevlar armor objectively better looking than any of the tier 2 and 3 armors?
WotC is fun, but it aint worth $40.

Are these things actually saved to your harddrive?
>>390123465
Of course. In your My Documents/My Games/XCOM2/Photobooth folder.
>>390122810
My only issue with WOTC, while being really fun and adding tons of cool stuff. Just seemed to emphasize more of the general difficulty curve for xcom. The start of the game is more gradual but you get hit with some pretty hard missions early. Now even with fatigue considered in, lategame seems like more of a cakewalk than ever, mainly due to training skills and the covert ops
>want to have Skirmisher armor on my normal troops
>can't
At least I get the helmet.
>Fighting the Chosen is fun as fuck
>puts unpredictability in their missions
>Assassin and Warlock fuck me over so hard that it actually makes me prepare my item loadout and team comp specifically for them if the mission is in their region
>Hunter is pretty lame but I love his banter so he gets a pass
>stronghold assaults are great fights that really challenge me and that I got by the skin of my teeth (sans Hunter, again)
>Game reverts to normal Xcom 2 after you kill them except now even easier with the broke-ass chosen weapons
>last fight is noticeably easier and the room was obviously redesigned to take advantage of Chosen strengths
I feel like the proper way to play is to not actually kill the Chosen and that the final battle is now balanced around having to fight them alongside the mooks that get summoned.
>>390124539
Surprised that hasn't been made a mod yet.
>>390124902
>warcuck
>strong
>stronghold missions
>hard
What game are you playing?
The strongholds are a joke in terms of difficulty, and warcuck is also a joke. With 55hp, auto overwatch, planeswalker and a bunch of other gay strenghts he's still a walk in the park.
>>390124902
Yeah killing the chosen definitely feels like a crutch. I think the problem with stronghold missions is that the chosen aren't really designed to kill your soldiers. Many of their abilities focus on inflicting Daze and then extracting knowledge/capturing which works well when they ambush you on regular missions but less so in a direct confrontation.
I think if they had been giving more cutthroat AI in the stronghold instead of adding in random fodder waves it would have made for a much tougher encounter.
The avenger defense missions when the chosen attack you are way tougher than the stronghold missions.
>get to tier 3
> all soldiers dress basically the same no matter what
fug
>>390125267
The Assassin threw a curveball at me and the constant stream of enemies plus nothing personnels every other turn was almost more than I could handle.
But then by comparison, the Warlock AND his slab died within a turn.
Why do the women all look awful? Especially the randomly generated ones.
>>390128314
That's what experimental armour is for.
Shame it's not customizable though.
>>390128314
I guess assassin kind of killed herself for me when she did the wave on 3 of my troops.
Placing herself right between my two rangers.
By the time I did hunter I could easy kill them in one turn.
I doubt warcuck will be any harder, he's a joke when he appears on a mission
Protip: You can import other people's posters by simply putting them into your folder and naming them Poster_xxx.
You can also import custom posters that way.
>>390129449
>You can also import custom posters that way.
Do they have to have the same dimensions?
reminder not to assume your toaster's pronounsyes it's not customreminder not to play xcom2 on 720p on a toaster if you don't want to hate your life
is it better to play vanilla first and then grab WOTC for a 2nd playthrough or just grab all the DLC when it goes on sale?
>>390132427
play wotc right away, the first month or so is heavily railroaded/handholdey
>>390132427
WotC trashed the story and if you try to pay attention it's a mess full of holes and contradictions. WotC mechanics are nicer.
Play vanilla for the story.
Play WotC for improved gameplay.
>>390132427
Probably vanilla first, WotC is a LOT to keep track of.
I could see it overwhelm someone who hasn't played vanilla.
This thread took a turn.

Played XCom 2 for a bit, but never finished it.
What does the expansion add?
>>390150607
New Strategic Layer, new units, new Soldiersclasses (Unique Factions)
A new way to give Soldiers extra abilities and FireEmblem Awakening style Soldier Connections. They start developing a bond together and gain new abilities and passivs.
3 Antagonists, of which one can jump into a mission and steal your soldiers.
Those Antagonists have special Abilities, buffs and debuffs.
New "Zombie"-faction. Less focus on Timed-Missions and more variants of Missions.
>>390150961
Sounds pretty fucking cool. Thanks anon.
It's way more fun than XCOM 2 vanilla but doesn't really address the core problems of the game
Waiting for Long War 1 but with XCOM 2
>>390124902
Does your Warlock do things? Mine just summons psi zombies constantly, no mind control or psi attacks.

Also includes the Tired mechanic in order to make you actually diversify and not just romp a six man crew of maxed-out badasses into every single mission ever

it's not recommended if you haven't finished the vanilla game. you'll be overwhelmed with the new systems

Because tier 3 armor looks like a plastic action figure and tier 2 just looks like shit.
Also, tier 1 has the most variety to chose from.

that is an xcom soldier wearing an advent captain helmet

In my Game, when I get near him, he starts Mindcontrolling people and then run away. He can control more than 1 person, so dispatch of him quickly.
Since he's invulnerable to Stun/Disorient, it's hard to get those guys back.
Mindcontrolled Soldiers are captured if you flee or lose.
