can someone explain backspin and why I would want to use it?
I just reached rank 2, and don't really ever play golf games
there seems to be a lot of mechanics going on and some of it is overwhelming

Backspin sends the ball higher into the air and allows it to be more affected by the wind, useful if the wind is headed towards the hole
Topspin is the opposite, it sends the ball lower in the air to be less affected by wind

Next to baseball and soccer, golf is probably the next most popular. It's very expensive to play in Japan, or so I've heard due to the limited amount of land Japan has which is why these games are so popular. It's apparently cheaper to fly to Australia and play golf there than play in Japan.

It was always Everybody's Golf in EU, and, IIRC, somewhere in the middle of the series, some of the Hot Shots games with the more "western" characters had some of the cute jap characters.
I still kinda wish that they had some of the western characters in as well (even though japan knows jack shit about them) if only for some of the older western fans.
I thought Mel was dumb as fuck when I was younger, but he kinda grew on me. He's not entirely the "face" of the series in the west, but he's probably one of the more well known characters outside of not!AdamJensen from the localization meme.
Missed opportunity not getting the actual Adam Jensen to make a cameo in World Invitational and this game as well.

If there is more I havent seen any yet. You can make the domino-mask looking eyes with 2 circles at least, I had to make Toob's mask with a couple of the stars and a circle on the right side of her face so it wouldnt look jagged

It might be if there had been more than 5 courses. And perfext impacts still allow the ball to go off to one side, which is cancerous as all hell. Mario Golf 's 3DS entry has more content especially if you include the DLC courses for both games, and better music and mechanics by far. But Everybody's Golf has one of the best character makers around, and the leveling system is pretty cool.
