I found the free post release content lacking. Many of the maps were just titanfall 1 maps ported to 2. The new titan also isn't that appealing. One of those games that I wish had a season pass instead of the free dlc model. Would rather pay more for both quantity and quality than get free dlc that is underwhelming. Also miss those sweet 1st person titan executes.

Made a bad first impression with Titanfall 1 and had a shitty release with a whole lot of competition. Not a lot of great post launch support either. It's a good game though, shame it didn't do better.

This right here...I played the BETA and holy shit it sucked compared to OG Titanfall. I was in disbelief so I skipped launch day. I then heard from many people they changed it back to more like Titanfall so I bought it. It is now my favorite "twitch shooter" ever with BF4 still being my favorite shooter of all time. Tf2 is an absolute blast and I have it on PC and computer. I could not believe how good the single player was either. Here is a pic in my game room.

Trying to appeal to the esports audience and the console audience simultaneously, same issue with COD.

It did fine, just not as good as it could have been because it was released at the wrong time. Plus people are bored of futuristic combat now.

Campaign was fucking incredible. However, multiplayer lacked the same atmosphere as one. Grnuts seem to have more character in one than two. I know that seems strange but its all part of the environment and you think you really are at war with a faction and such.

They added some cool shit in 2 that would have been amazing in 1 and it would have been awesome if they managed to squeeze in some form of a multiplayer campaign into 2 like 1.

Both are excellent to me and I like switching between the two.

Game's fine and still has an active playerbase on consoles.
It was never going to compete with COD or Battlefield, so they needed to not put it so close to those releases and focus more on marketing in the meantime.

Bad launch window, no marketing, reduced skill ceiling and skill floor, reduced time to kill, slow balance changes, "free" DLC is just maps from the first game with redone lighting and textures, new abilities like grapple and phase are completely busted while stim has been upgraded immensely and lets you go from 0 to sanic at the push of a button, infinite ammo, titans are MOBAfied, maps are all three lane bullshit besides the retuyrning ones

It's not a bad game, I sunk over 300 hours into it, but it was a step in the wrong direction and Respawn has been doing their best to tweak back everything over time, but the progress is too slow and a lot of things like entering the titan in first-person is out of their budget to redo. Hopefully they get it right with Titanfall 3.
