Youtube videos are not a demand that needs to be monetised, and the product after this happens is almost always worse because they realise dumb fucks will give them money for nothing. They then try and guilt the people who don't pay for this shit by threatening to limit the output of something they previously did for free or better quality.

Look at any Western porn artist. The minute Patreon went up and they started earning a decent wage out of it the output and quality dropped off a fucking cliff. People that produced whole comics in minutes beforehand now suddenly slow down to a fucking crawl, releasing it at a dripfeed to keep the money coming in with "progress" pages and the perpetual (Ongoing) label. Go on e-hentai right now and look up any artist that's on Patreon and look at their output before and after it. If people don't have the impetus to work they won't do it.

This isn't dissimilar from budgeting a film or game.
Part of that budget goes to paying the wages of the people who spend their time working on the product. The more money in the budget, the more time they have to work.
