whats your expierience with gaming mouses having side buttons? a meme? dont they break after a year?
>>
>>390019754
they're a godsend. Very useful for PTT and small macros. My G600 has lasted me years, too.
>>
>>390019754
they're great if you already know what you're going to use large amount of buttons for.
think quick fps weapon switching and mmo skill hotbars.

i've got 2 of that mouse but i've barely used the bottom row
>>
>>390019754
Fantastic in MMOs but (mostly) useless in everything else.
>>
>>390019754
Best thing for mmorpg. Had razer naga molten - scroll broked, two buttons near left click broken in 1 year lifespan. Now i have g600 which is working good for 4 years.
>>
>>390020072
>pause/play
>increase volume
>decrease volume
>forward page
>back page

I use them outside of games a lot
>>
>>390019754
Logitech has some of the best mice and keyboards out there
>>
>>390020364
i also use the 3rd button for open in new tab and one of the other buttons for save image
im cutting down so much time when browsing porn
>>
>>390019754
A numpad count of side buttons are fucking great for ANY kind of game. It's not just some "MMO players" meme. I use half if not all of them for the majority of games I play.

I went from some shit tier literally who Chinese company mouse to a Logitech and it is the best mouse I've ever had (not for precision, that's still a Zowie) for just the ease of access to the number of things I can do without ever removing my fingers from WASD or the few other critical keys.
>>
>>390019754
>mouses
I rate this post 1/10
>>
I wonder if there's a mouse out there with just one big button on the side, I think if it's a good quality button it'd be good for aiming in shooting games and right mouse button could be used for something else.
>>
>>390019754
Been using this g700 and I love the side buttons. It makes mmo play so much better
>>
>have G600
>one day starts only performing well on reflective surfaces
>one day starts to sometimes have imprecise scrolling
Pretty much all tech I use will start to develop weird quirks, it gets annoying.
>>
>>390019754
I have that mouse, it is pretty good.
Though mine has gotten this problem where the mouse cursor will occasionally just randomly jump to the other side of the screen quicker than I can see it, dunno whats causing it but is makes certain games slightly harder when it happens.
though luckily it is rare as fuck so I didn't bother getting a new mouse
>>
>>390019754
I have had a g700 for two years now. The twelve side buttons are nice for mmo's or moving pages without clicking on the back button. That's literally the only two things I use it for though.

The shitty thing about it is that it in order to take it apart you need to strip the rubber pads off the bottom which fucks up the smooth movement.

They dont break, and they are awesome.
My mouse is 6 years old, and it is still works. I kinda want it to break already, so i will need another one.
>>
>>390019754
I want my mouses to have this but i never use them
>>
>>390019754
That is the same mouse I use. I love it
>>
>>390020820
Don't use the onboard profile if you are. Fixes many issues.
>>
>>390019754

I used this exact mouse. Loved it, but broke quickly. A few of the G keys became unresponsive after a few months and the mouse started double-clicking at random after several months.
>>
>>390019754
g600 is god tier but it isn't optical

I switched to a g502 after my 600 was unusable and it does tracking way better but the buttons are shit compared to the g600. The contours and the strength needed to push the buttons were perfect. The G502 buttons just fall in and have barely any feedback. Still a good mouse overall. Decent at everything but not the best at anything.

I don't get why logitech doesn't make a new mmo mouse. It's not even for mmos the buttons are so useful for literally everything. 5 buttons is never enough and usually half of the buttons are placed in a way you couldn't reliably use them unless they are needed passively like in an mmo or arpg. come on logitech.
>>
>>390019754
had the one in the pic you posted, used it for over a year worked fine, sold it to my brother as I stopped playing anything that demanded extra buttons. They work fine, kind of want to purchase another "mmo" mouse might go with corsair this time.

What the hell do you even use all those buttons for?
>>
>>390019754
Mine is still holding strong. I don't use it much because it's heavier than other mice but if you're into MMOs they are a godsend.
>>
>>390025142
MMO's
>>
>>390019754
Had mine 2.5 years still works. Use it for dots 2 for items and courier macros. Overall very happy with it

I use my razr naga to quickly click thru spreadsheets and ms word tps reports

I used to have pic related
what I loved about it was that it was larger than most average mice are and was comfy comfy because of its size and shape.
I also loved how its extra buttons were all spread out all over the mouse instead of all Crammed together for your thumb to press, I fucking hate how most mice just have a numpad on the side, you can only comfortably reach like 4-5 of the buttons at most and they all feel the same.
Is there any other mice that have extra buttons but also has them spread out on the mouse insteaf of all in one place?
>>
>>390019754

I've had my g600 for... atleast 5 years. I'm only now wanting to buy a second one because if they ever discontinue it, I'm gonna have a hell of a time playing MMOs without it if it ever does break. Still working great though.
>>
Meme shit. My mouse has the option to add 2 extra buttons through mono jacks, I've used it exactly once to hook up a floor pedal to play Time Crisis.
>>
>>390019754

if you don't get a shit tier mmo mouse they all have mechanical buttons and micron switches so real uh 'gamer grade' shit
>>
>>390026292
The only mechanical MMO mouse though is from Corsair and I hear they're a shit company.
>>
>>390026503
Razer has mechanical switches in their Nagas as well.
>>
>>390026617
Really did not know that. Razer I hear is pretty bad though.
>>
>>390025142
>keyboard has like 100 keys wtf do you even use them for

:^)
>>
>>390019754
Been using my G600 for years, but I only actually use the side buttons for FFXIV

Worth it.

Ever since I got a Logitech M705 which has two buttons for forwards/back on it, I can't go back. I assume that this would be multiplied the more buttons/macros I have on the mouse.

Having at least two side buttons is a must-have for a general user I'd say.

Won mine in a competition last year. I can't go back to a normal mouse, the six trillion buttons are so fucking useful.
>>
>>390019754

I've had that exact mouse for over a year and it shows no sign of stopping.

That being said it's good if you're in to MMOs, but essentially useless for everything else. I like it though, and I doubt I'll be switching unless I have to.
>>
>>390019754
I bought that one to try for Rainbow Six, but the mouse feels pretty heavy to move around. I use fingertip grip style.
>>
My mouse just has 2 buttons on the side, which I mostly just use for going back and forward a page when using web browsers. For games, they usually go unused
>>
I'm using an old optical mouse from like 2007 or so, two button + mousewheel. Beside the mousewheel button starting to shit itself it works just fine. side buttons always seemed unnecessary to me, but I don't play MMOs so, eh.
>>
I have used Razer Naga when it first appeared. I think it was the first mouse with a button pad. The oad was fine, but left mouse button broke in 6 months.
The mouse was too small, so was the numpad, so I have used only 4 side buttons.
Side buttons are very essential (especially when you use 2 or more voice comm clients at a time) but that layout is uncomfortable. I prefer 5-6 side buttons arranged in traditional way. It's so eady to get lost if there are more buttons (happened with Naga alot of time).
>>
>>390028494
So you don't play diablo clones, Dota 2 or any game with voice comms too? Side buttons are godsend for using items, skills and push-to-talk.
>>
>>390028751
I play diablo 2, PoE, and dota 2 fairly frequently actually.
I'm not retarded so I just use tilde for ptt. It's far from necessary to have extra buttons on your mouse. It's a luxury thing, that I don't think is comfortable.
>>
Have that exact mouse, no issues in 3 years or so of ownership.

Almost every kind of game benefits from it. I bind the third click to PTT. The side buttons even just kept on their default binds will help out a shitton in a lot of games. MMO's for sure, MOBA's for abilities, FPS for weapon switching (works hella good in R6 Siege since you use 1-6) and the like.

The only major problem I have with it is you'll have to adjust your grip and even then, it's possible to fuck up. You basically need a claw grip or a grip where you pinky anchors the right side since your thumb is hovering. The most common problem I have on Siege is gripping the mouse too hard with my thumb, hitting '5' and pulling out my drone/camera in the middle of important shit.
>>
>>390019754
Most of them are very heavy, if that's not a deal breaker (or you play games that don't require much mouse movement), they're great.
>>
How come people recommend using a gamepad as well when using an MMO mouse?
>>
>>390028869
Then you haven't really tried. Tilde for PTT is awkward: imagine you're moving with WSAD and instructing your team on what to do. You have to reach tilde key with your pinky finger (otherwise you can't move), so your arm and hand take shape of a crooked hook. Bravo! What a way to play the game!
