Disgaea 1 for the ps2 a while back

was pretty fun
>>
I haven't purchased a game in years. I'm just holding until the Action Platformer Resurgence of 2019 takes shape.
>>
>>389995867
I went into Pirate Warriors 3 basically blind to Musou. I enjoyed it, though the fact that it involved One Piece probably helped a lot.
>>
Decided to get into weebshit this summer, bought persona and yakuza games having zero idea of what they were about. Not dissapointed, gonna go down this path even further
>>
>>389995867
Ark a long while back. And no, I do not like it.

No
It was shit
>>
>>389997157
Hah, I was the opposite, I enjoy musou but knew and cared nothing about One Piece, just heard it was good. Turns out it's one of the best of recent years, and it got me into One Piece.

Its doesnt really seem like something I would play more than once.

XCOM EU

Ended up becoming my favorite game series since MGS is now dead in the water

Without knowing about what the game was I guess it would be 100% Orange Juice. Friend recommended it by saying I will hate it.

Hes completely correct, I absolutely hate that fucking game. Why can't I stop?

I never got Tearaway for Vita, but I played it on PS4 when it was on PS+, it was ok.

Star Fox Zero. I didn't think it was quite as bad as others say it was, but its still not a good game.

Subnautica. Heard recommendations but also comments from other people that told me to not look up the wiki to not spoil myself the game.
I like it. Got tired of it for now tho. Finding leviathans for the first time without knowing about them was really fucking spooky too.

I didn't buy it. But when I was younger I saw a commercial for this game where you make your own dinosaur and destroy stuff, or something like that. So I asked my grandma for it for Christmas. Looking back I think all I told her was it was a dinosaur game. With that little information she ended up buying me Dinosaur king for the DS. While first upset because it was wrong, I quickly grew to enjoy this game and at the time it was my favorite game.
>>
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Hated it, the whole thing was libtard-tier brainwashing. Likeable characters replaced by negroes, every hub was supposed to make you feel sympathetic for muslim terrorist trash in Europe, the whole black lives matter shit but with augs, the game was no longer about being red pilled about globalist agendas and it became a game promoting globalist agendas right from the desk of George fucking Soros.

What a piece of shit game.

Morrowind

Yakuza 1 for the PS2 about a decade ago. One of the best financial decisions I've ever made.

I bought Persona 5 on a whim. I went in to buy the The Witcher 3, but the guy ringing me up talked me into P5 instead. It was my first Persona and I had never looked into the series before. Amazing decision.
>>
>>390002825
I bought Deus Ex: MD without much research other than the plot and enjoyed the fuck out of it. The plot wasn't ultra compelling, no. It seemed pretty generic dystopian society based storyline. I didn't get any of the BLM vibes you got from it though. The gameplay was fun.

Magician Lord on the Switch because it looked like a cool game with wizards and shit.

At least it was only eight bucks. I can't fucking deal with how every time you die you have to deal with like five seconds of black screen only for it to put you right back where you were, and it has some of the most absolute horseshit enemy placement I have ever seen.

And this is from someone who can beat Metal Slug 3 on less than "five bucks" worth of continues.

Bomberman R, so my friends and I would have something other than Zelda to play at launch for the Switch. It was... OK. Not stellar, but OK. Currently, the game's sitting on a shelf while the Switch is literally our new Wii U (Mario Kart, Splatoon, and soon Pokken).

Considering that level design and enemy placement are extremely important to the genre, it was definitely a bold decision to have procedurally generated rooms and infinitely-spawning enemies that swarm you with unavoidable damage.

>Ignore it
>Hours before game is out friend sends a 5 minute gameplay video
>Can tell if I'd like it from that alone because I'm not a complete retard, decades of playing videogames make detecting games I like easy as fuck.
I'll never understand the retards that get sucked into hype fests with 0 gameplay footage, or gameplay footage that OBVIOUSLY unrealistic as fuck, you should be able to tell by now that 4K trailer from E3 is going to get downgraded retard, it's been happening for years.
>>
I don't even remember anymore. But then again, I'm ultra autistic about checking the quality and actual content of everything I want to buy, so it's no wonder that I do the same with vidya too. Of course I don't want to see any spoilers or stuff, but I just can't justify myself paying for a game if I don't have a good idea about what it's about, how much there is stuff to do in it, and what others like or hate about it.
>>
Mad Max

>Did you end up liking it?
Fuck yes I did. It's a shame they chose to release it the same day as MGSV
>>
Dark Souls 1 back in like 2013. I knew nothing about it going in except for the "so hard" meme. Still one of the best games I've ever played, don't even care if I get called a soulsbabby.

No it tried to be monhun with cutscenes but the story is fucking awful, characters too bland, aragami designs are garbage, maps way too small, grating anime orchestral soundtrack, and most importantly the combat was shit and unsatisfying.

I hope this shit never gets a sequel or releases in the west ever again.

Not a bad little shmup but it was basically a game still in beta. Thanks to /v/ I tend to have an idea for just about everything worth a shit, though the last physical game I picked up by just a look at the covers was baten kaitos origins and holy shit that was a great find.
>>
Night in the Woods
Cute game severely held back by its 0/10 ending.
>>
I picked up Warriors Orochi 3 like a day before Hurricane Harvey hit with my last $20 after buying a bunch of groceries. It was pretty fun but had a lot of flaws. Like what the fuck is with the pop-in, lousy camera and guaranteed enemy hero musou attacks which lock on? Also while the game had a HUGE amount of content which is nice, the time travel mechanic gets used to justify a lot of lazy shit. You'll fight the same 10 demon officers at least a dozen times a piece and they have a total of two lines of dialogue. Then you'll have to play a 'redux' version of a stage (it's basically the same with some new dialogue and maybe a new route or event) half the time to do some trivial thing which will prevent a character from dying offscreen so they can join your army. The graphics were also pretty iffy as well, but it was on both PS3/360 and the current gen systems so that's to be expected.
