Yeah it's fun, but incredibly flawed in a lot of areas. It's a really watered down game like Zelda in a way, kind of like how >>389971547 said. It did scare me a bit as a kid, because there are explorable crypts with skeleton enemies that make semi-creepy grunts when they appear and when they attack. Combine that with the ambient background track (or no music at all due to a common glitch where the music will cut out when entering a different area) and let me tell you, I'd wrap up in my blankey real tight in fear.
