The 3DS will get its proper successor right?
With all the things a proper successor needs, like 2 screens, 3D, a clamshell design and a touch screen and backwards compatibility with 3DS games at the very least.

Do nintendo fags not realize that the switch is Nintendo bowing out of the console race and going full handheld? The switch is the successor to the 3ds.

This.

Way too big too casually bring with you

They still wont release another "handheld". Either it would have to be a hilariously outdated piece of shit (we already have 3ds for that) or something respectable specs wise, creating HD games for two platforms when they are already struggling to support one? Whilst also "competing" with its own hardware since they technically would have two handhelds on the market? Never in a million years

Do retards honestly not realize that the Switch is Nintendo consolidating their handheld and console development because they know that the TV is dying? The Switch is the successor to the 3DS AND Wii U.
It has one.
It's called the Switch.
they would be fucking retarded if they did
what the should do is make a simplified/cheaper version of the switch parents can give to their kids (like the 2ds)
Aside from what's been already said, what they might do is release a Switch hardware revision in a couple years or so once production costs go down enough which comes with no dock and non-detachable joycons (basically a pure handheld) at a roughly 200 dollars price tag or less if they can manage, in order to entice people unwilling to drop the current asking price on the system. That revision would still play Switch games, but only in handheld mode.
I'm kind of sad if there's no new handheld because Etrian Odyssey won't work on the Switch, and they've basically confirmed Persona Q2 and some unannounced EO game will be the last two 3DS map drawing games.

The Switch has a touch-screen though, they could put in map drawing on it while in handheld mode or with the IR pointer on the right joy-con Wiimote-style while in docked mode if they really wanted. Of course it'd be more cumbersome since there's still the issue of a single screen.

The switch had nothing essential as outlined in the OP
Both 3DS and Wii U suffered from bad branding since consumers thought they were simply sidegrades to the existing DS and Wii. 3DS eventually managed to escape that but Wii U never did recover from it, which makes me wonder what they'd call the 3DS successor if it ever gets made since we already have names like DS Lite, DSi, 2DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS and so on. Calling it 3DS 2 is just more branding mixups. Switch is more successful now because it was made clear it's a completely different console with the name itself.
