What are some good sites to go PC shopping? Looking for a prebuilt gaming pc. Not sure how much I want to spend overall, right now I'm thinking 1000-1500 should land me something fairly solid?

Would the Alienware Aurora r6 be a good tower to get?
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/alienware-aurora-r6-desktop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-256gb-solid-state-drive-1tb-hard-drive-silver/5714687.p?skuId=5714687
Any general advice would be great tok

just throw your money down the trash chute and hope a good pc shows up.
>>
Go to /g/ and lurk in the PC building general. Lots of helpful links and advice there.
>>
>>389925627
pcpartpicker.com
Never buy Alienware or anything from some prebuilt store.
Youtube and a screwdiver will literally save you thousands.
>>
>>389926261
this is what i did, don't waste your money on prebuilt garbage.
>>
>>389925627
Hotaru a shit. SHIT!
>>
What's so bad about prebuilt or Alienware? Seems pretty solid to me
>>
1000-1500 isn't as much as it sounds when you don't have to pay to play games on PC.
>>
>>389926383
You get to pay the stupid tax. You'd be smarter to order a bunch of parts at a local place and pay their assembly fee.
>>
>>389926220
That's what he's doing.
>>
>>389926383
>Overpaying for weak parts, tons of LEDs and a retarded logo.
Anon, I...
>>
>>389926383
>can put together the same quality build with several hundreds of dollars less and will be more reliable and of better quality.
>they take advantage of people of who don't know jack shit about hardware and just buy on brand status alone
literally do a couple of hours of research and you will understand. you are either lazy or stupid.
>>
>prebuilt
nigger putting a pc together is so fucking easy, i did it with no video help (only knowledge being use isopropyl alcohol and a lintless cloth to remove shitty stock thermal paste and replace with a pea sized dot of good shit) and just common sense.
plus you dont end up with shit temps from shit paste, or shitty psu or mobo that will give you nothing but headache. and actually good balanced cpu and gpu, non chink ram, whatever case you want, etc.
>>
>>389926335
Hey

You dont talk to my wife like that

Newegg.
>looking for a prebuilt gaming PC
Stop, and learn to build it from parts.

Then go to newegg.

They charge ten times as much for what's essentially the same hardware you can get in pieces and put together yourself.

Yeah so easy! *eyeroll*
>>
But how am I suppose to know what parts to get?
>>
>>389926791
What an excellent question, there are sites specifically about part matching available to you. We even have a board specifically about computers and technology that you can ask that question in.

If you have to ask that question, then you're best bet is to look for refurbished PCs. Those are still pretty strong despite being after-market.

Alienware aside (never fucking buy Alienware jesus christ you retarded shit), with the current cryptocurrency bullshit, premades actually offer pretty compelling value at the moment. You're usually only going to be paying an extra 50-100 bucks, and depending on GPU and RAM prices that day, you might even save some money.

But again, that's all thanks to buttcoin bullshit. Once prices stabilize, building it yourself will once again shit all over prebuilt.
>>
>prebuilt
>alienware
You might as well get a console, mate.

Part of the charm of a PC is building it yourself. There are tons of tutorials online, and it's WAY easier than you think.

Hell, ask /g/. They're usually rather helpful.
>>
>>389925627
>too dumb to build lego

I don't get why everybody has to get on my case so hard Jesus, I didn't know Alienware was overpriced. I guess I'll look into building one then.

>>389928251

NO

GTX 1080 ti or don't buy one at all for that amount of money.
>>
>>389928414
I'm not saying that at all it's just that I'm being blasted for considering Alienware when I wasn't even aware they were overpriced. It's just a little ridiculous
>>
>>389928478
So something like this?
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-xtreme-liquid-cool-desktop-intel-core-i7-7700k-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-1tb-hard-drive-black-orange/5867705.p?skuId=5867705

Here's what I don't get, how am I suppose to know the parts will fit? I don't want to order a bunch of shit only for it not to fix or even worse break
>>
>>389928547
Some people on the Internet are either full aggro or simply helpful. No inbetween. Except me I'm the best.
>>
>>389928547
the only thing that's ridiculous is that you're posting on a site that is 18+ and are surprised that alienware is shitty overpriced shit in which you're paying for brand name over quality.
>>
>>389928728
See here's the thing, you could buy that, or you could build this:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8PtkYr

Same specs, and I guarantee you the memory and power supply is going to be miles better. There's no liquid cooling in the custom one, but you don't need it unless you're getting into extreme overclocking, and even then you could pop in an AIO for an extra 100 bucks or so if you really wanted.

And keep in mind, this is with the GPU prices being out of control right now. If they were normal, you'd be saving hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

As for shit being compatible, just make sure you do your research. Make sure you get a motherboard that's the same socket as your CPU, make sure you get RAM that's the same standard as your motherboard, make sure you get a power supply big enough to handle everything (anything above 500w these days and you should be fine). Everything is standardized for the most part.

If you live in America Fry's has good deals every so often.
Nowadays I get most my stuff from Amazon, they beat out Newegg on price for most things (mainly because of free shipping).
>>
>>389929219
>gaming laptop
what's wrong with those
>>
>>389930068
Everything. Literally everything, right down to the label being an oxymoron.
>>
>>389930068

>>
>>389928728
Cyberpower PC is absolute junk. I would not trust the power supply in that PC at all.

Your best bet is to let someone here or on /g/ assist you with making a parts list like this anon is doing >>389929197

and then put the lego pieces together yourself. It is -not- hard. If you are smart enough to post on this website you are smart enough to put together a PC.
>>
>put together PC
>it doesn't work
>take it to local PC shop
>motherboard was most likely DoA

It happens. Get a new one, stop being an impatient fag. You're saving a shit ton more money and there's plenty of prebuilts that are DOA.

>>389930327
This is the truest reply in this shit thread.
