It's not just high level combat, it's combat in general. Regardless of your skill Witch Time and Umbran Climax are still fundamental aspects of the combat and it's one of the stupidest decisions I've seen. The only changes for the better were removal of QTEs and no Chapters like Route 666 or Isla Del Sol and weapons with more identity but even that's questionable since combing in Bayo 2 is so restrictive.

I might be misremembering, I haven't played either game in a couple months but I recall there being more overlap with 1's weapons. The only really unique weapon I recall were the Odettes which were a ton of fun to use.

As for being able to do more with them I do agree there but as you said that has more to do with how restrictive Bayo 2 is with its combat conditions to put enemies in any sort of launch state. You need the Bracelets of Time if you want to do anything on a consistent basis.

With steam, you just press the home button on the DS4, just like on consoles. Unlike the limited cuntroler customization options on PS4, You can change literally everything and have came stom profiles for every game. That's more what I was getting at rather than pure combo potential, I'd like to see a game with all the positive aspects of Bayonetta 2 done with the combat rules/mechanics of the first one. I also think Umbran Climax is a neat idea but it needs to work more like Devil Trigger and it can't be the only efficient use of your magic, combat obviously shouldn't be balanced around it either.
