I honestly didn't think i would see people actually defending the abhorrent version of the vacian casting PoE adopted, and that's on top of retarded rest mechanic design where nothing stopped you from running back to your keep for resting and whole procedure usually took you less than a minute.

I would say Fighters is the immortal class. Paladin has decent defense from their base ability but Fighters have naturally high deflection, high accuracy and defensive talents that allows Fighters to do damage even with a shield and heavy armor. That said, Paladin is excellent as an off tank and their support abilities are nearly as broken as priest.

Out of combat you can create "songs" that are comprised of various buffs and debuffs to help your party or hurt your enemy. So you could have him constantly play a song that speeds you up or have a mix of a song that drains life from your opponents to a verse that gives bonus fire damage to attacks. That's basically all there is to his class. You set up an autocast rotation for his bard song. Unless they've changed how shit works you're basically better off ignoring the whole lingering buff effect and just picking one that has a good effect so you can keep it up permanently. Most combat also does not last long enough to make any real good use out of his invocations so you should build him into a tank so he actually has a purpose.
