The scaling in 2 is all sorts of fucked up because it works on a curve so you get Disgaea big numbers, it looks BADASS, even if it fucked the entire system.

Borderlands 1 had a great base game but was barren and barebones. It was a funny game as well, the Dr Ned DLC especially got a lot of laughs out of me.

Borderlands 2 massively increased the enemy and location variety but fucked everything else. Not only is it not funny, I would be embarrassed to play it in front of anybody. They absolutely fucked the scaling and the loot system (Fucking boss grinding for Oranges for fucks sake), and also the combat took a severe hit in that Borderlands 1 had ONE (1) instance of an enemy that could not be dodged, and that's not one enemy type, that's one enemy who you will kill once. Borderlands 2 you have shit that fires lasers that WILL hit you if you don't go behind cover, and missiles which WILL hit you if you don't get behind cover, and it fucks the shooting aspect of the game.

If you took the best features of each game it would be my favourite. Borderlands 1 is better though. Borderlands 1 you run around shooting shit and picking up good guns, literally running and gunning through the entire thing, but the only thing you're shooting are skags and bandits 24/7 with the odd Spiderant to keep it interesting.

Borderlands 2 you are ducking behind cover while your shield regenerates and then popping out to pop off a few bullets. You will rarely ever find a gun worth replacing your current one with (for the amount of guns that drop) with plenty of drops being basically unusable. But you have some nice looking enemies to shoot and some nice environments to do it in. But they fucked both the shooting and the looting.

You only ever really need one slag weapon and a rocket launcher. Fire and corrosive weapons are shit. Shock and explosive are okay to a point. Grenades can also cover certain elements.

Yeah, they made some really retarded choices with BL2 but I still think it's a good game. The lack of legendaries, bosses having specific legendaries, and assault rifles being pure trash as the biggest issues I think. It's nothing to to with age, those have been hated since release.

But the writing, and anything to do with UVHM are your own fault. There's a dialogue mute option and UVHM is meant to be retarded. TVHM is fun the whole way through.

For me shit hits the fan after 61. 50 is vanilla cap and actually alright. 61 is 1st level pack dlc and is tolerable, you get a taste of retarded exponential leveling with tough enemies and big guns with big numbers. Borderline.
72 and especially OP8 levels from 2nd dlc are pure autism.

Legendaries should fit in with the shoot and loot aspect of the game and not be grind material.

In defence of the game I heard last time we had a thread that they reworked the loot a bit after like a year or two and now you won't get like 0.2 random legendary drops a playthrough.

What's a "DOT"?

Half the difficulty of endgame is having a shit build, which most people get wrong. The other half is shit guns, which is more annoying to rectify but plenty of people still get it wrong by going in unprepared beforehand. Endgame really isn't hard at all if you know what you're doing, only in the middle of OP8 does shit hit the fan.

There's enough freedom to go above cookie-cutter, the main problem is the game not giving enough information on what skills are actually doing and how they're calculated. If someone cares enough to get to endgame though I'd assume they can look it up and figure it out.

Why did they make the game so fun as gunzerker but dog shit as almost every other hero in end game play.
Like I know you can make some crazy builds like melee zero and a reload 999 times while afk to play the game with out having to aim.
But they all take huge amounts of gear that the game makes unfun to farm.
