Y'know how a big part of the overwatch player base is afraid of the DPS role? I think people aren't as willing to play a game they aren't instantly good at anymore.

With arena shooters it seems pretty much mandatory to aim with your whole arm, while most pc fps players only use their wrist. A lot of the reflexes from a game like csgo don't carry over.

I honestly miss CliffyB. Everyone likes to shit on him because he fell in with a bad crowd, but Bleszinski has talent. Unreal, Gear 1,3 prove it and I'd argue Bulletstorm showed he was still ready to innovate and do it well.

Bleszinski's retirement said a lot about the game industry at the time and still does. It's getting harder and harder to create, and we're no seeing the successors to the people who put in the work and rode waves in the 1990s and 2000s. I don't know what's going wrong, except that the games just aren't there in the way they were. Cliff Bleszinski probably has a better idea than most, if he's still able to talk about it.

An FPS built entirely around movement systems. There'd be a bunnyhop-based character, a grappling hook character, a skiing/surfing character, a projectile jumping character, etc. Every character would have a gun which creates temporary (ie. fades after a few seconds) terrain when it hits a non-player, and the type of terrain would be different depending on the character's movement system.

The bunnyhop guy's gun might create little hop-scotch pads, the grappling hook guy would make stalagmites, the surfer/skiier would make slopes or hills, etc. Every gun would do more damage the faster you're moving. So there'd be a metagame of trying to go as fast as possible while creating favorable terrain for yourself and unfavorable terrain for the enemy.

Not necessarily nitpicking but a lot of cs pros have low dpi and sens so they have to do big sweeps and such for flicking. I've been using low dpi and sens for everything ever since I got tired of missing shots and got a huge mouse pad and forced myself to get used to it. Honestly probably the fastest and most important improvement for aiming I've had. When I got back into quake it's why I didn't have nearly as bad of a time since I was used to having to move my arm so much. Meanwhile my friend that's always had shit aim and refuses to get a large mouse pad and wrist aims can't stop over aiming. I have only been able to get one friend to play quake and it's the guy that can aim. Arena shooters are dead because the majority of people just can't aim or do movement so when they hop in they will be utterly raped.
