>Pokemon Sun/Moon was the best-selling game in 2017
>It sold 12 MILLION copies in less than 2 months
Is this proof that Japanese games can still compete with western games in the global market?
>>389871606
You know it only sold so much because it rode off the hype from Pokemon Go?

Pokemon is mobile tier shovelware in Japan, anon.

Good lord, she is adorable.
>bad games sell lots of copies
>people are actually happy about this
Sorry dude, but good games with good ideas are very much a niche in the modern age and rarely get sequels. PS2 had so many gems with just one title in the series because console gamers just aren't interested in creativity at all
You should be very unhappy that shit like Persona, Dark Souls and Pokemon sells millions of copies while good niche games die. Hell even though I like Yakuza, I hate that it's a total fucking cash cow now and it's like Dynasty Warriors in that you can miss 2 games and still find little new additions if any in the next game you buy
Gaming industry is in a bad state desu

Yeah, not a mystery but it didn't used to be this way
>>389877686
Stop it anon, I don't think my heart can handle it.

It can't be denied that it had an impact. Nintendo's acknowledged it themselves. It should be said that it's pretty impressive to be able to get players to migrate to dedicated gaming hardware from mobile, though.
