After playing the game for a month, you will have seen 100% of what the game has to offer in terms of mechanics. It's also a game that doesn't emphasize player skill, which is one of the core reasons why people love shooters in the first place. You can have a team based shooter that also allows an individual to express themselves, but Blizzard is so intent on making sure the game requires team play that they're hobbling solo play potential.

Why play when you experience all what it has to offer after a couple games?
No depth makes you not want to put effort OR time into the game because every single game boils down to the exact same spammy shit into ult galore into point taken/defended.

Coupled that with the absolutely pants on head retarded stuff and balancing like sombra horrible design and uselessness 99% of the time, 76, dive and tons of other shit and all you're left is a terrible game that people hate to play and that bores them to death.

It's also not just you, people are leaving and shittalking the game en masse because the honey moon phase is over and all these flaws are blatant while blizz pats themselves in the back and refuse to admit the issues with the game.

Game needs ammo packs, game needs tricks and skills that clearly differentiate players, game needs content, game needs less choke point spam.

Blizzard is slow at making content for it, and doesn't know how to balance the game at all. The only reason people care about it anymore is because of waifu porn. I know very few people who play the game and actually have fun with it these days.

It needs more pve. Both Doomfist and Orisa were lame addition and all the balance changes have been absolute ass. Need more maps and game modes that they can actually implement in qp/comp.

You presumably played the game for a couple hundred hours and just got bored like a normal person. It's bound to happen, it's just for some reason the hype surrounding overwatch made a lot of people pick it up thinking they were going to be playing it forever when to begin with, they were never the type of person to play a class-based shooter for a long time. It's the same with just about any other multiplayer shooter, or a fighting game, or other genres where the game mostly plays out the same round-to-round.

The game's been out for a year now and most people got it close to release, it's natural for the playerbase to stabilize to be the kind of autists that play the same shooter for years. I played Tf2 for 2000 hours, and 600 hours into this game I'm still going strong. If you can't see yourself doing that it's because you're not a hyper-autist and want fresh experiences from your vidya, that's probably a good thing. This is also the reason people complain about the dlc cycle, they want constant content to create an illusion of freshness, when 99% of shooters throughout the years didn't have that. This whole confusion over why OW feels stale comes from people not understanding that the core of a game like OW is gitting gud through micro-refinements in your play, and enjoying the repetitive deathmatch grind, just like any other fps.

I really miss the pre-WoW Blizzard days...

Because there is no point to it. It has very little depth and complexity, but is hard wired to being a team objective shooter only. Compare that to other popular first person shooters. Many of them allow for deathmatch, team deathmatch, and various objective based modes and they all work well. Overwatch has so few modes and does even them horribly.

Bunch of characters in the game are not viable.

People who throw are not punished.

These are the reasons for the game being not fun.
