I honestly wouldn't have minded that if it Incorporated itself into gameplay. Like she's more lethargic during night missions, or you can cover her with more armor to protect herself at the expense of her performance. Maybe with full armor she's too weak to run around and can only stay where you first deployed her until she's fultoned out.
Instead she had absolutely no flaws.

Gameplay wise, she was a great companion for her utility. I pretty much went full Ocelot and nutted over her capabilities. She's a good safety net for if you fuck up, she's only surpassed by DD in terms of scouting, she makes judgment calls that make up for the frustration of not following your direct instructions, and with some boss fights, she was arguably better than having a second player to back me.

Everything about her use in the story was autistic because Kojima dropped the fucking ball. I blame his personal handling of the negative reception to her concept. I don't have a problem with her being a love interest, but I do have a problem with her being under-utilized and underdeveloped, with a confusing agenda that is never resolved. I can easily buy the love-story, but the bonding through game mechanics needed to be supplemented through actual story.

She does what is advertised, sure, but she's overpowered. Combining a spotter and a sniper into a single, teleporting package is pretty broken. I wouldn't really call that being great, personally.

I don't like her, how shoved in your face the romance is, the retarded pendant retrieving scene, etc, the game seriously tries way too hard at making you care for her and make her look badass. I also personally disliked how she gruesomely breaks a man's teeth and she just gets immobilized and anesthetized all gently whereas Liquid gets his arm broken for less.

One thing I don't understand is why do they let you kill her when the game requires you to recruit her later on to continue. It's just confusing and a red herring. Illusion of choice at its finest.

Who is, then? Other characters either had previous games to back up their performance in this one (Ocelot), or were given some characterization. I can't think of any character who felt as out of place as Quiet, who was clearly just there for the tits and ass shots on the helicopter.
