A close approximation is Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones is smart, he can figure out ancient puzzles that have stumped folks for centuries, he's active, he's kinda funny, he's handsome. But at the same time, he can be an asshole and pisses off most of the female leads. He can be kinda selfish, he's got well documented fears, and most of the time he loses whatever he's after. He's not a Sue.

Take the chick from The Hunger Games. She's beautiful, smart, brave, etc. Everyone loves her. She becomes an icon for a nation, and at the end she literally has like 12 guys throw themselves under the bus, to which she asks, 'Why' - 'Because we love you'. She doesn't have any personality of her own and mostly is just a stand in for 'someone who is good at whatever we are talking about'. She's a Sue.

Actually it's because a good video game character is most often a blank slate onto which the player projects himself. Having complex characters is good in heavily story-driven non-role-playing games, but if you're supposed to have control over your character's decisions then it's annoying to be brought down by some glaring character flaw that you didn't choose.
