As someone who played from pre-alpha to past release, the gameplay isn't any more enjoyable now than it was at the beginning. The only solidly positive change was more races, but last I checked the melee system is still hot garbage and the shooting has nothing going for it apart from the fact that it isn't as bad as the melee.

Don't even get me started on the psyker powers.

The only great issue I had with the game within my 40 hours of playing is that you can't choose the game mode. Conquest type modes are fucking trash in any game.

It's pretty obvious they had this in the making for a long time and due to the backlash from End Times/AOS they're having to dial back the radical changes that're happening to 40k's setting.

It's similar to the Storm of Chaos/Eye of Terror campaigns and how they caused a huge backlash and GW had to retcon their original results that they had planned for the advancement of the setting's lore.

Playing as a CSM havoc with heavy bolter is the shit
They recently released an update which allows you to turn into a SUPER space murine/demon but you need to pay for that, I honestly haven't seen anybody use it ever since
The game lacks maps, especially since siege maps are fucking cancer where defenders win 95% of the time, it's a 30min campfest that's boring as shit. I haven't won once as attacker in some maps.

I've got about 100 hours in Eternal Crusade, so I can tell you what the problems are

Little changed since the alpha from what I saw. Stormbolter tactical spam became Chainsword assault spam became mark of nurgle spam which became melta spam which became I quit from all the flavor of the month imbalancing.

They couldn't even balance two factions properly so I don't know why they rushed out Eldar and Orks.

Space Marine in particular got a good angle on this. Even though you played as one guy in one small-ish region, you really got the feeling that you were late to a global blitzkrieg. A bunch of the objectives made sense in that context too.

Seriously, don't play this shit. it may look fun and all but you will understand in about 20 minutes of gameplay regarding the core flaws and I'm not even counting the major problem that is optimization which single handedly killed the game (Founders/Veterans leaving. It was happening before that even) Sure, Nathan will pull out his over 6 million unique logins bullshit but we all know that's marketing bullshit, You'll get matched up by the same group of people who has played this game since the early days who probably defend the game as much as they defend the devs.

Cashshop? It's all crap with nothing worth to spend on aside from the Alpha Legions which was skewed anyways to please some 16 year old Italian in which certain cosmetics were bugged but still sold in the store, generally shitty quality or lacking any cosmetics (Eldar) even then they shit out so much RTC at you they are not even trying to hide it just so they could soften the deal up. I'm not even including downgraded stuff like founders standard for LSM, the Aquila turned into a tiny one with no purity seals or as detailed like the original release. I don't even want to mention the so called content the devs promised to deliver (Not Miguel's planetside 2 dream) No Terminators, No new Maps/gamemodes even the Battlewagon they teased. They are so upfront on being an asshole on stream they even called out the biggest Ork guild in which some left the game due to bullshittery like that and nerfing the skip launcha as a "joke"
