Its amazing how the first one had such a good setting and atmosphere, such a fantastic and cool story.

Then complete shit for the rest on all fronts, including that dumb destiny game with its obviously godawful setting. It's all obviously well polished and thought out, but everything theyve done since fails to inspire wonder like the first game. I forget, did they change writers after the first one?

Halo 2 and 3 are objectively superior to CE. CE is great but I don't get the nostalgia fagging for it. 1-3 are much, much better than anything else related to the series though

Halo 2 only suffers from this for the first 3-4 levels. As soon as levels leave earth the game gets back to a CE like quality

It wouldn't have been as bad if the change were more subtle. They introduce brutes in halo 2 and as a player you think wow these enemies are mindless meatloafs and suck. Then in halo 3 they gave them some special armor and had players still had the same opinion on them.

It wasn't until halo odst that they decided to teach you more about brutes ways and how they act on their own.

This is a reminder that the true order should have gone 1,2, odst, 3. Microsoft didn't want to put anything out but halo 3 and so we got some shit slapped together and shoved down our throats
