It's pretty weirdly balanced. You will get fucked by low level goblins but the game will throw so much gold and XP at you it fucks the whole progression making it almost easier(in some parts of the game at least) than the normal mode. Think of it more like an alternate "party mode" for bored people if anything.

Hard mode is not really a hard mode, it's a "level faster and get more cash but not for free" mode. At first the game will feel ridiculously difficult but you will quickly out level the difficulty increase which is not really anything more than enemies doing more damage.

I noticed you can see a pawn's play time and I always see pawns with way better equipment than mine with much better abilities and like half the play time. Makes me feel like such a scrub

Fighter if going any physical route.

Mage is going a caster route.

Both provide valuable dmg boosts to other classes and the stats are good so the points aren't wasted. Strider is absolute shit and you're wasting your time playing it for anything but pre-reqs. Boosts suck and stats gains suck.

But if you don't wanna be a min-maxing faggot in an incredibly simple game then just rush to the city and level tot he minimum reqs to advance classes and pick one. It will carry you to end game.

I find it a bit strange that they hide a lot of the useful "utility" augments that aren't all that overpowered in BBI so by the time you get them it's too late too really be useful. Like the DP ring that's only useful if you cheat-rush to get it during the early game.
