Gamefreak is small developer with just pokemon. There other games are like indie type. Not sure why your surprised. But MHS flopped in japan. So don't see why gamefreak would give a shit

Which is a real shame it flopped, because I love the MH monsters and would love a sequel and more spin-offs where you can engage with them in other ways than just killing them.

I'm certainly having a fun time, but I don't know if I can call it good though. The combat is very basic literal rock-papers-scissors stuff, and you can tell they were trying really hard to get kids interested in MH.

But there's a free demo up on the eShop, so why not see for youself? The demo is first few hours of the game up until the first major boss, and you can transfer your progress if you buy the full game.

They barely have 120 employees because they operate as a subsidiary of Nintendo, so they don't need extra staff for marketing/HR/accounting purposes. 120 dev team is reasonably large, especially for developing handheld games.

As a Pokemon fan. It's a shame it flopped. Would have gave Pokemon competition and made gamefreak more effort into the games but MHS was not for the monster Hunter audience in japan. Who just grind and kill monsters

Gamefreak isn't own by Nintendo. Nintendo owns apart of the pokemon ip licence. Gamefreak can make games besides Pokemon on ps4 or Xbox or steam and they done with giga wrecker and tempo the elephant
