>You get game over if MC dies even when a party member has a revival skill
>>389670945
>the mc isn't important
>any party member can be the mc
What was FFXIII's problem?
>>389670945
name one rpg that doesn't do this
>leader dies in persona
>party members too retarded to revive
>leader dies in SMT
>demons he HIRED carry on and are capable of reviving him
>>389670945
Considering how dumb the casts of personas 4 and 5 are I wouldn't be surprised if they just gave up or went full retard when either Yu or Joker died. SMT demons make sense though they're just mercenaries.

>SMT is casual and Persona is hardcore
How times have changed.
>boss oneshots your party member first turn
>have to wait 5 minutes until mc dies so you can restart
> boss wipes your party before you can even act
>>389673465
casual filter
That's bad game design
>>389672276
>SMT1 +2 balances this out by having it game overs when human party members die
IV a shit
>>389673771
human members in IV die in a few hits and there's literally nothing you can do to prevent it, also there's 3 of them so they probably get KO'd and the rest of the samurais take care of them

Yeah, because they're just AI allies compared to characters who are pretty much leveling demons who can have equipment and use items

FF series
SMT series bar Persona 3 and beyond
Bravely series
Breath of Fire series
Come to think of it, it's more uncommon to see an RPG where you get a game over if the protag dies.

Yeah, i'd rather level up Walter alongside Flynn as an actual party member, would be much more fun and would allow some creativity with builds

>Persona
>hardcore
You wish.
