I have never hated a game simply because it is popular but I ended up hating a lot of popular games after trying them myself.
Other times I just don't want to play them because I don't like the genre or it just doesn't look interesting to me.

Yes, particularly MOBAshit and sandbox/survival games. Streamers and their normalshit drones need to be lined up and shot.
