>Still no selective memory deleter so I can replay the best games of all time again

IT'S NOT FAIR
>>
Virtue's Last Reward was objectively better.
>>
>>389584872
>Wanting to replay the exact same game AGAIN for literally at least the second time
999 had nothing on VLR because you had to play entire the game over to get the good ending instead of flowchart teleportation shenanigans. VLR had the worst escape rooms tho
>>
If you forget about a game so you can enjoy it again, how would you remember to play it?
>>
>>389585742

the 999 re-release has timeline skipping, anon-tan

I'd wipe a lot more than vidya memories if that technology existed.

They don't seem to know about the re release at all
>>
The thing about the present is, you never appreciate it until it's the past. No matter how many times you wiped your memory, you wouldn't realize you're playing your favorite game until you're already done playing it and looking back
>>
>>389585805

I leave a note
>>
>>389585742
I never really liked the flowchart, it was very useful but it spoiled how long the game was

>nor 999
>or VLR
>>
What if you do that, but you end up not liking the game because you're no longer in a state where you can enjoy it. So now you lost your fond memory of the game.
>>
>>389587117
Then you wouldn't have known you lost anything anyways.
>>
>>389585323
Character designs are all worse and the game visually looks like fucking garbage. Haven't beaten it but so far I liked 999 more aside from the drawn-out opening.

Ghost Trick and Fata Morgana too

So you can forget everything after episode 5?
Me too

Self reminder that the whole trilogy is now available on PC and I should play 2 and 3

>Character designs are all worse and the game visually looks like fucking garbage.
I'm gonna have to disagree. The Character designs were top notch considering to this day, I can still remember the cast based on how they were designed.
No one looks too Generic or too out of place.
You could show me an image of the VLR's cast when I'm 90 with Alzheimer and I'd still be able to tell who they are.
Good Character design isn't if they just look good. They have to look unique as well.
>>
>>389587117
This

If I were to delete memory of, say, Super Mario 64, I think I'd have to also delete every other memory of everything I've played since, since it's so dated in comparison, I doubt I could even enjoy it

I think the most likely outcome is you'd realize what terrible taste you have
>>
>>389585805
>altering your mind

You might end up shitposting about it.
>>
>>389587898
I beat SM64 for the first time three years ago and it was hella fun.
>>
>>389586735
Nope I'm pretty sure I realized 999 was something special and different while playing it. The moment I ended it I already got depressed because I knew this story would not be topped in my lifetime within gaming.

It still holds true to this day.

The story isn't that amazing, it just was properly handled and had a good atmosphere
Ghost Trick has an objectively better story
>>
I finished ZTD the other day. Why was everyone pissed at the ending?
>>
>>389589448
You just haven't thought about it and discussed about it enough
I spent a week defending it and gradually I realized the game was just utter shit
>>
>>389589448
probably because it was open ended as fuck, and some parts were unexplained
>>
>>389589448

Same reason everyone was pissed at Twin Peaks: The Return

>No sequel seems likely
>Years spent seeking answers and theorising >Official work intended as the conclusion is announced and released
>Literally just raises further questions without addressing everyone's main issues
>>
>>389589448
>major plot inconsistencies unlike 999's "leave it to the imagination" kinda plot holes, compare having 2 Carlos in one timeline and Carlos escaping FTS base unharmed to get to the shelter, to Seven being in on Akane's plan or not in 999
>MINDHACK
>ALIEN FAX MACHINE
>Le KILL OTHER TERRORISTS
>LE SNAIL

granted the mid game was much funner and exciting than the other two games, the decision game was much better than the slog of the AB game and picking doors

Decision Game could have been so hype, but the majority of the "decisions" were text input fields. Most of the good dilemmas were concentrated on C team, and the other teams got one good choice each (Radical-6 and the gun vs. incinerator). I wanted more games that involved fucking over the other teams to save yourselves like the execution vote.

Santa's not even related to Phi either.

I think them making and selling us 4th game after ztd is a bigger betrayal than ztd itself

Literally leave a list of games you need to play to find out what happened to you. You finish all of it and the cycle repeats.
