It's been exactly 20 years since the NA release.
How old were you when you first played it?
Not sure. It was high school. Maybe 9th grade. Played a bit of this at a friends. Then played 9. Then went back to play 7.

15 its an alright game
not as big like nostalgia fags make it to be

Quite good though. A solid 7.5/10, maybe even an 8 if it wasn't for how poorly the world space 3d character models aged. Better than any of the garbage that is shot out today though, revolutionary for the JRPG introduction to the west.

15 or so. It was my second RPG, first was Super Mario RPG. It absolutely blew my mind.
Unfortunately my family is hardcore Christian to the point where magic in media is shunned, so I played it fearing for my mortal soul. Which honestly gave it some edge that it wouldn't have had otherwise.

Nostalgia plays a major role in people deciding a favorite. Give it 10 years and people will be saying the same shit about your favorite game and labeling your a nostalgia fag.

10 when I played it, I turn 31 next month.
Bought it as soon as it came out because of the commercial and because literally every gaming magazine was calling it a 20/10.
Still my all time favorite game. Absolutely magical playing it as a kid.
9, got it from my dad when he was blackout drunk after somehow thinking the cover art of the meteor was a soccer ball and therefore it was a soccer game.
