I don't care how much "git gud" ends up getting justified, nothing will ever justify the goddamn bridge levels, even though I did end up 100% the game at one point. The OG game was absolute trash regarding its infamous "die even once - get to check point again - finding out it's easier to just DO IT ALL over again because turns out all boxes have returned to normal and due to the developers' masochism, you have to do everything literally perfectly while not dying even once while minding the weird ass bridge that somehow has frozen wood planks and can endure a goddamn boars' weight but not your own". The newest games at least fixed this.

A final boss is supposed to be a test of everything you've learned up to it in the game and your graps of the mechanics.
This asshole straight up cheats and punishes you for doing what you do to other ships, getting a gigantic powerup when they would normally be dead. Its a blight on an otherwise great game and knowing this is what awaits me at the end of a run ruins the entire game.

I heard the physics and collision in the remake is a bit off, making it harder than the original.

Actually I beat the boss pretty easily since its poorly designed and stealth and leaving one dude alive completely negates any and all challenge.
The boss does cheat. Taking out all people on any other ship, including your own, ends the fight. It instead gets fully healed and goes back to spamming its broken if you don't have stealth invul infinite ammo bot spam that works on completely different mechanics to everything else in the game. Everything you learn up to that point in the game in every other encounter is not only invalidated but actively punished because they couldn't think of a boss that actually obeys the rules of the game and is still a challenge; so they made one that cheats, and is still not a challenge.

Since you just assumed I couldn't beat a boss that massively announces its main plan of action in a game where you can turn invincible for longer than said plan of action lasts I'm going to stop replying to you now. Learn to argue without using strawmen.
